Fantastic 10r - where did you get the custom decals up front and what have you done to it (ie. power commmander)?

Here is my 03' gsxr 6... I've had it for a good while though

42,500 miles and counting...

And this is my Bandit (mods out the ass):

38,000 miles and counting...

Always good to see another rider - stay sharp this season!

well as i just bought it i havent had a chance to do anything to it yet, will proboably test it out before i decide what mods to do, theres still snow in the ditches here tho and track season doesnt start for another month or so :(

previous owner has thrown tons of carbon fibre on it as well as steelbraided all the hoses, not many decals on it but if youre referring to the "ninja" one thats on originally on the EU model.

nice looking bikes youve got there, was actually aiming for an R6 this season but in the end opted for the legendary zx10r 04-05 since the lack of power in my aprilia was one of the reasons i sold it.

its gonne be a great seson! :D

Well I own a 01 R6 my advice is if you like to do track days dont get an R6 1999-2002 (carb model) I own a 2001 model and they are notorious for being very light upfront get a steering damper if u ever get a pre-fuel injected model and then theirs the 3rd gear issue of which I havent had any problems with yet, they are cracking bikes though I really do love mine to bits its just too bad its still in repair state I just havent had the time to sort it out.

currently though i ride my zx6r 01 which keeps my racer vibe in control

well i heard a false roumor that the 2010 R6 was going to have RAM-air (which could potentially put that bike in the 150bhp range).. when it didnt i opted for the zx10r instead, supposedly has a similar chassie and slipper clutch to the 06-10 R6 which is what i really like about that bike (never tried the older R6 as i was always a superbike kinda guy anyways).. +170rw-bhp in the zx10 isnt too shabby 8)

needed a keyboard to fit this small slide out tray for my desk. Found a brand new AT keyboard from BTC. I think it's NOS or something as I've never really seen an AT keyboard. I use the included ps/2 adapter.

Not easy to find a mini keyboard that uses real keys as opposed to the usual laptop style.

and uh, that's a razer deathadder mouse.

@ Kingbuzzo: That looks exactly like my Lachesis (4000 dpi maus), pretty fidgety when it's not tamed. Has been good to me lately though.

Also, wow, nice retro. Does that even have a Windows key? I wouldn't love it because of the way the arrow keys are oriented, though...I only ever move my mouse a few inches most of the time so I would end up getting a slightly larger keyboard.

Anyway I do have a reason for being in this thread, though. Since my SyncMaster 204B is going to a newly purchased computer, I'm replacing it in my setup with this:

http://www.amazon.com/Planar-PX2611W-26 ... B000O7IIS0

Looks pretty decent. After a couple hours reading monitor reviews on TFT Central .co.uk and Prad.de, and being pissed, I happened across the Monitor selection page on Prad, and it looks like this one hits all the right notes.

For Kingbuzzo,

Logitech produced a mini PC-type keyboard for the PS2 console with a matching PS2 dual analog controller on either sides called the "Playstation 2 NetPlay Controller". It is very similar to your USB powered mini PC keyboard. It's even compatible with the PS3 as well. It's a bit clunky due to using both USB & PS2 type of connection interfaces to get the whole setup to work properly but the NetPlay Keyboard is detachable from it's controller base for ease of use on a PC/PS3 setup if you wish to do so.

Haven't had a problem with this mouse with heavy usage since August. The keyboard is so far the best mini keyboard I've ever used except that the function key is where the contol key should be. This was easy to fix with some soldering thanks to the full copper pcb this thing uses. And yes there is no windows key which was a huge plus for me, although linux does use the "super key" for some things..

Now I just wish it was a full mechanical keyboard.

looks cool, I don't think I'd have much use for it as I don't do any online gaming with the ps2 and don't have any next gen consoles. I like how the windows key is replaced with a logitech key! thanks PCEF.

Minor game-buying splurge today (sort of:)

Image

Had some trade-in credit from the 50% extra credit promo that Gamestop did a few weeks ago, and this weekend they've just put put a bunch of stuff on sale, which allowed me to grab MGS4 and BlazBlue for $20 apiece, and Raiden IV was already selling for $20 (with the OST CD.) Also threw in LittleBigPlanet (since I've been meaning to play it) and walked out the door with all these for $30 total out of pocket. I also saw Bayonetta for $40, but passed on that since I'm already booked for a while...

1 Sharp Famicom Twin AN-505RD, RGB modded.

DewmanSNK performed this mod to my specifications and it turned out great. After the PPU switch and amp build, he replaced the small RF 5 pol din connector with a Megadrive/Genesis/SMS 8 pol din connector, and wired the RGB and sound with the Megadrive/Genesis/SMS pinout. Any standard Megadrive SCART(or otherwise) RGB cable works out of the box with this system.

I also gutted an old PS2-Neo Geo controller adapter and made an adapter to use my NES 4 score through the 15 pin expansion port. No more short controller wires. Well, unless you need the player 2 mic. But that's rare.

I believe the only REAL RGB Famicom is the titler - so I'm unsure if it's actual RGB or composite SCART for your Famicom.

It's hard modded with a Playchoice 10/VS Duck Hunt PPU, and piped into an ultimarc RGB amp, into a JROK sync cleaner. It's the same PPU used in the titler, or very similar. Same color palette.

Composite video actually doesnt function anymore with the PPU change, it's composite sync only. The titler has a separate encoder to take the RGB into other formats like composite video (like most systems do, really)

I actually don't use a Euro/SCART monitor anyway, I use SCART-RCA breakout adapters through my A/V switches into a Sony PVM 20N2U. The monitor doesnt auto switch to composite, even if it were available.

And so the era of Stormie wrestling with the question of buying a horrible joystick comes to a close. :)

Also, Arasoi informs me that the RGB fucks with the FDS, so keep that in mind if you are like most people and only can have one Famicom banging around.

Bought this earlier this month. I just couldn't say no, for only a thousand bucks plus tax brand-spanking-new. It's super dorky, but fun as all Hell. Cheaper than buying bus passes for a year, cheaper than some Cave kits too I guess.

Image

I just installed a 72cc bore kit tonight so hopefully I can get some better hill climbing ability. It was a pretty intimidating job since I've never seen the inside of an engine before, but I guess scooter engines are simple enough that I could learn as I went along. I still need to jet the carburetor and change the oil though. None of the shops in my area are willing to work on these Chinese scooters, so I have to do all the maintenance myself.

I heard that these Chinese GY6 engines don't take well to bore kits, but this thing was so damn cheap, I'll just buy a better scooter if/when this breaks down.

as much as i love bikes i have to agree that nothing beats scooters when it comes to inner city commuting.

tho they are a bit tricky to pull 200kmh wheelies on
