1) The game is legal in Japan, just as much as beheading someone in a game is a-ok in America. Japan should just say, "fuck you, mind your own business" and stop being a bunch of pussies.

2) The concept of imaginary rape victims is just plain stupid (like imaginary friends and shit.) If imaginary victims should be protected, then all forms of media should get banned. What about imaginary murder, violence, verbal abuse victims?

3) One in maybe 100,000 will rape someone from playing the game and that person would probably have done it anyways. Billions of people play violent games and it's just the mentally unstable that will actually shotgun someone's brains out.

The game is years old now and has received more advertisement than its creators could’ve ever hoped for. Rapelay ended up on amazon sellers and got a tiny bit of attention, but got most of its coverage on various game blogs a few months ago. I guess someone at CNN must've stumbled upon them on a slow news day.

It was in the Guardian a while back too, though that story tarred everyone who was into games and anime/manga with the same brush. Comments were rather lively, I'll post it if I find it.
