Fuck game!
Cool!
Don't blame the game for console hardware failure. :?

I'm starting to warm up to this game finally.

Green = Tap

Blue = Hold

Kind of a pain-in-the-ass to keep looking at the color of the counter, but it's not as ball busting as chaining (DDP) or medal collecting (APB), I just wish there was a better way to tell what to do than to keep looking in the same spot over and over again. I guess that's one of the perks of the game after all.

Black Label is nice because you get an audio indication of when to switch between tap and hold.

I'm still thinking if I should keep the game or not. My DLC card is still unused and I have two 1600 point cards waiting to be used. I'm going to sleep on it and I'll make a decision tomorrow.

You know, I do better when I look at the counter for some reason. I know it's near the character as well, but I don't use it often. But I'm still working on it. Maybe I can retrain myself.

If you decide not to keep Futari, I'd like that DLC card.

If I sell it, I'm going to do it as a package.

I saw the card up on eBay a couple of times when I was looking for this copy. Keep an eye out. I saw a couple BINs at 15.00 shipped.

I think I'm going to keep it though. I just had to sleep on it.

wow

just wow

I'm glad I downloaded BL

I feel BL Original is better than 1.5 because I don't find myself holding and tapping as often and the firepower is better as well. Now I'm faced with the dilemma of either focusing on 1.5 Original or BL ...

1.01 is ridiculous in difficulty. It's nice to have, but I'm going to stick to BL and 1.5 for now.

4 great runs on the trot tonight but I choked. Got to third level boss with four lives (and once with 3) and only beat that fucker once which left me on level 4 with no bombs and one life.

Tiime to put in some practice on that third boss. Need to do it without bombing.

I seriously think the third boss is harder than Larsa and the second half of stage three is the hardest part of the game.

Yeah the second half of stage 3 is generally where I start to fuck up. I'm good with the boss and the fourth stage and boss but the patterns those little rolling bugs spit out always get me.

I've got used to the rolling bugs. The trick is to shoot with the right shot to get slow down and then you can manoeuvre quite well. The other trick (which I read somewhere here) is not to focus too much on your ship. Sounds crazy but it works for me on this level.

Quick question since I am assuming a lot of players here are Japanese/live in Japan.

Does anybody know how the online network for XBL works between countries? I live in Japan, but want to play games like these (are these networkable and online playable via multiplayer?,) SF4 ETC.

Is it possible to play world wide? Sorry to stray off topic a bit. I am also interested in this as well, but I never even really seen any shmup game I want in stores, and I fucking LIVE in Japan.

I guess Tokyo is the real haven for gaming, eh. Have to go there this year.

Worldwide play depends upon the game. Some are region specific for online, some aren't. Also, most of us are not in Japan, so we can't help you with finding games.

It's not better though, just feels that way because it's easier. The manic-ness of 1.5 is most fulfilling for me, BL is for when I'm hungover and want an easier ride.

1ccd the original arrange mode today. I didn't know about the character change mode and I could only make it to the 3rd stage boss.

Once I looked at a replay, it was all gravy from then on.

WHAT? BL Original is fucking impossible. POINT BLANK THE MIDBOSSES WHILE DODGING THEIR PSIKYO-LIGHTSPEED-BULLETS. And you don't just need to be close to point blank, you have to be like RIGHT ON TOP OF THEM. Crashing into enemies and shit. It's a goddamn nightmare. I hate it.

BL is an easier survival 1cc (which I am close to getting although I've spent a lot of time away from the game). Want to score well? Good luck, champ. I actually think it's a lot of fun. I'm just not very good at it.

I'm just having a hell of a time trying to figure out the best ways to avoid 1st, 2nd, and last bullet spreads on the 3rd stage boss on maniac black label.

I can manage to get through the first sets, but its inconsistent.

The 2nd phase where they shoot the pod down and scrolls across the screen while he rains bullets downward really F's me up good.

And of course the first spread of the final phase. I almost think its impossible to get through it without bombing at a consistent basis at my skill level.

I can get through the boss np with 2 bombs for the most part, but I just really think I could lower that to 1 or hopefully at some point none.

Seems like this fucking boss is way harder than stage 4's.

After all this time I'm still have a bitch of a time clearing 1.5 maniac. If I can't do it by this summer I'm going to DL black label and give it a go. Kinda frustrating since 1.5 original took me a quick week, argh!

Man, I was playing this today (new Maniac high score :) ) and I had to switch up the buttons because I couldn't stop pressing the buttons WAY too hard and it was hurting my pinky finger so I had to move rapid fire from button 3 to button 4. It's tooo intense! :D

Despite still not being sold on the first level, this game has really grown on me. I think it must be that they pack so many explodable, screen clearing enemies into every stage except the first.

Managed to no-miss to the ST4 boss' second form as Palm! Ended up with a shit score on the last boss' second form (178 million-ish) due to some stupid bastard deaths. Was a shame because I hit second extend fairly early in stage 4. Still pretty chuffed though :D

This is original mode, btw. What character is everyone playing as? I find Reco a bit ineffectual on the final level; I always end up getting ravaged without Palm's cock-laser. But she is a lot easier to score with. I don't know weather to keep on plugging with Palm until I snag the 1cc or switch to Reco and practice stage 5 some more. Stage 3 boss is surprisingly brutal without Palm's C shot slowdown spamming :o

I think Reco is a lot better for the sake of crowd control and making sure everything on the screen dies. At least, I prefer using her for that reason. I do a lot better against bosses with Palm, though.

Abnormal Palm

once I get things down better, I may work on getting through it with Abnormal Reco.

Normal Reco is just too boring and slow. Normal Palm doesn't take down bosses quick enough and would force me to learn some new patterns lol

I've been using Abnormal Palm. I"ve found Reco to be good to use for the stages because her regular shot is stronger and wider so it's easier to take care of popcorn enemies and clear sections easily, but I have more fun playing as Palm. Plus, he takes down bosses much quicker and I can avoid a couple of tricky patterns that way.
