I found that Super Aleste and Axelay for Super NES were both fairly easy to 1CC. I mean, they each took me a few weeks to accomplish, but I usually can't 1CC anything so that should tell you something.

Super Aleste is the better game, IMO.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give them all a few games and stik to whichever I enjoy the most. Cheers again.

I'll second Battle Bakraid. It's good fun if you aren't trying to pull all the crazy scoring tricks, and it doesn't get all that hard till the last stage on normal.

If you're curious on how it feels to 1CC a shmup while sleeping, try GG Aleste. But you HAVE to do it in your sleep, or you'll never feel that rewarding feeling.

I have 1CC:ed most Cavegames and a couple of more. But I must say the easiest by far was Raiden Fighters Jet. Suicide on the last boss on lvl. 3 (or earlier). This will make things much easier since it will be a shortcut.

Easy as hell!

I dont think Gradius or R-Type games are the best one to try your first 1CC on ! Those are really frustrating because of their one-life-or-die system.
If you are looking for a middle-difficulty 1CC, I would for instance advise you to try Darius Gaiden on the Saturn.
in all honesty while I haven't 1cc gradius I find the nes port perfect for something that isn't easy nor too difficult. I can get up to the last level 1st loop without dying once after that I'm dead with game over within 5 minutes lol. I M O i don't think gradius is THAT hard if your familiar with shmups in general. Again its just practice and remembering how you beat "this section" the last time you were there.

Mushi Futari BL, using Reco is definitely do-able.

The PC-Engine version is a good candidate aswell.

This.

I don't know anyone who needed more than 2 runs at GG Aleste to 1CC it. Stupidly easy.

This, GG Aleste 2 and Harmful Park are the 3 shmups I finished in my first run. Shienryu Explosion and Soldier Blade I finished on my second run.

I got this in like a day, but haven't been able to replicate it. I don't think I actually understand the hitboxes in the Mushi games.

I can't stress this point enough. For a mediocre skills player like myself, I took my own sweet time getting a 1CC on View Point for the Neo, and I can guaran-stinking-tee you that if I hadn't loved the game up, down, left, right, underwater, in-my-sleep-with-the-lights-out...I wouldn't have kept going and finished the process of the 1CC. It's just a long journey for some games, and if you're not in love with a game, it becomes more of a chore than a shot at glory.

Don't play a game that you think you can win because it's easy...unless you love the journey getting there, too.
