What happens if you buy one more PCB?

Haha. I bit the bullet and ordered a crapload (min. qty. ) of various sized product boxes from some packaging company (can't even remember who, atm). Saves a ton of shelf space having small PCB's in small boxes rather than everything in the same sized huge box. I'm planning on moving/rearranging everything in the next few months, so if I remember I'll snap some photo's of my nicely protected collection for ya'all

I'm new to the PCB scene and not sure how to store them neat and tidily when not using them. Can you guys share some pics of your PCB storage for ideas? Thanks

I got lucky when my office upgraded to Cisco IP phones, I took all the empty boxes home, they fit 90% of my PCBs (just a bit smaller than a standard cave box), and stuck them all in a Home Depot garage rack.



I'm kicking myself for not grabbing more, as I already reached capacity.

Each shelf actually holds multiple pcbs. I think I got 20-something pcbs stored in there, the limited space is actually a great thing because it stops me from buying too many pcbs

Well, first thing you'll probably want to wrap these boards in antistatic bubblewrap.

That is not bad, but you really need to keep 'em separated. Use cardboard between your games so the parts don't stick and break off. Also, regular bubble wrap won't protect your PCBs from static electricity, but it's better than nothing. Pink bubble wrap is the right kind if you can find it.

If I could go back in time, I'd go with my old storage, as the second takes up way too much space.

i store mine like emph's first picture but less tightly...

mind you, i have like 10 or 12 pcb's...with 3 cabs, that doesnt leave much to store....they are all in one box....all pretty much the same size too(zn-2, namco system 10 etc.)

I always store mine vertically, although only for space saving reasons, so I'm glad to discover it's also good for the boards. I go for antistatic bag, then a layer of ordinary bubble wrap, and an extra box for my most precious PCBs. CPS2's just get to lounge about as they are, on their side.

Anyway - it's been a busy few weeks for my postman. Here's my new PCBs:

but for the most part pulling out even the lower boxes is easy enough.

Thanks for the cool link to that site, I'll check it out. I did see some Pachislo at a few Japanese gaming centers but never did get the proper chance to try one out but I did try out a pachinko one. The Japanese pachinko palors are sure damn smoky from them smoking paying patrons indeed.

Slot machine Factoid: In the Golden State of California, it's illegal for a business establishment to sell a slot machine (i.e. the one-armed bandit type of slots, etc). A business can be fined if law enforcement conducts an undercover sting to buy one in the process.

The Aruze released Hanabi De Joon "arcade only" released game uses Pachislo game mechanics for it's overall puzzler theme along with the later GBA release of the same name.

VS Castlevania:

It arrived in the typical large Nintie cage.



I took the board out and hooked it up to a JAMMA conversion board.





With the difficult dipswitch thrown, the quicker timer and higher damage taken make this a tougher challenge for Castlevania 1 fans. The second loop in the game is pretty brutal.

Yeah, that picture made me cringe Definitely track down some anti-stat bags or put down a layer of that pink anti-stat foam in each drawer. That clear hard plastic is like a huge static storage device
