Glad Sega of America (SOA) is making it available for the North American NDS market. Will there be any promotional extra goodies included with the USA release of "IS" game such as an OST or something else?

No extras for I.S., sadly. Strange Journey does, though, being an Atlus game and all.

As great as Infinite Space is, I'm still waiting for Sega to actually bring out 7th Dragon here. Only rumors popped up but so far no concrete evidence.

You should try Space Invaders Extreme. The XBLA version has the music by Jeff Minter, so I honestly don't know how that sounds, but the portable SIEs have some awfully catchy soundtracks. SIE for PSP doesn't have online multiplayer, though (the best part of SIE), and also your ship only had one set of effects as opposed to the Lumines-style sound remixing in the DS version (which is really odd). I heard development of that was handled by some other guys. The DS version works with the Taito paddle.
I tried SIE on XBLA at the 2009 California Extreme show and it was an awesome game. Music was jumping...did not know that it was composed by the "Yak" himself. Good to learn/know. ^_~

Playing either SIE-1 or SIE-2 on the NDS with the optional Taito paddle controller is cool. Taito managed to replicate the weighted feel of a full-sized arcade paddle controller setup and shrink it down in minature form for the NDS platform.

I'd like to see a good NDS Tempest game with Taito paddle support thrown in for the ultimate way to play it as it was meant to be.

Alright - Since it hasn't been addressed yet:

Is Mr. Driller worth playing on a Nintendo Handheld? Any reason why I should invest in the GBA flavor over the DS variant?

The paddle controller totally makes the game for me. I don't care for the xbla version entirely because I can't use it. it works really great for Space bust a Move also. You can use it with arkanoid, but the play areas are so narrow in the ds version that it's barely needed.

I had Drill Spirits for a while, and it seemed like a reasonable port, but nothing really special compared to any other Mr. Driller game.

To kind of answer my own question with an old post, mikehaggar says Drill Spirits is the way to go as far as portables go. I'll take his word for it. Although apparently the North American version is missing a mode.

Well the DS is old hat now, here comes the 3DS!

Will be the first system of any kind to do true 3D if it works and isn't just a terrible gimmick (IE virtual boy)

I am kind of jazzed about 3D, to be honest. As long as it has decent Gamecube-level graphics capabilities - I don't want be eyes gouged out by jagged DS polys popping out of the screen. I hope they port Wario Land VB to it!
