He gave up on his arcade a long time ago. The last couple of games he bought was a SF2: Champion and Mortal Kombat, to give you an idea of how long ago it was.
He still runs a route, but it's mostly pool tables and jukeboxes. What few games he still has are mostly those 60-in-1 boards. I've asked him what he thinks killed arcades, and he says around the fighting game revolution, games just got too expensive to buy.
To give you an idea of some of the classics that have disappeared from his collection in one way or another, he had
2 of these
Atari Footballs at one time. Gone.
The only things he personally wants to keep for history's sake are electromechanical. I don't know exactly what they're called, but he's got 2 games that look like pinballs, but they're baseball games. He's also got a Spook Gun, which was actually one of his best earners, but it's rotting.
Back on topic, I was a little late to the home console scene because I had a cabinet in my room as a kid. While everybody else was playing Mario or Sonic, I was playing Rygar.
Actually, I'm trying to get that particular cabinet back from him. It's no candy, but it's cute. It was designed for kids, standing only about 4 and a half feet tall. We had a Moon Patrol in it.
