I just got Mushihimesama Futari Ver 1.5 for XBOX 360 from play asia today---this game is INSANE---seriously loving it right now! I'm sure this has been answered before somewhere on the board or a different website, but can anyone point me in the right direction for a Japanese to English translation of the menus in the game, and a description of how all the gameplay modes differ from each-other? From what I can tell, "Score Attack" disables the ability to use continues-- and some other mode I was playing made WAY more jewls appear all over, but also made it so I couldn't seem to get killed from the enemy's bullets.... Thanks for the info!

if you wanna use continues, play normal instead of score.

modes introdcution.

1.5 original - good introduction to the game, few fast bullets. Gets easy for survival, and a bit boring even when considering scoring, after a while IMO. But, yeah. good intro. When the counter is green use turbo, when blue use the other weapon to get large gems.

1.5 maniac - slightly more difficult. You get a chaining bar. that you increase by shooting enemies with turbo shot. Increase the amount with A weapon when bar is max and red. Apply the multiplier when the bar is empty. You need some practice and timing to utilize the chaining bar. Therefore, not really rewarding in the beginning. BL is more friendlier here.

1.5 ultra - difficult, needs some practice and experience with the game.
But pretty mechanic so with patience and replys in hand you'll progress rather quickly.

arrange modes. you have two characters. When you play with one, the other is a shield that reflects bullets. 'The characters have one counter each that goes to 9999.when both are maxed you can enter "fever mode". I don't know more, supposed to be broken, at least for high level scoring. Ultra counterstopped and most of the points are from the last boss(?). If you ply for survival it's really easy.

BL Original - easier than 1.5. if you aim for 1cc, try this mode. slowdowns, much more gems, the counter changes color in another pace. But this is pretty similar to 1.5 original as far as I can tell.
I think in terms of scoring this mode pennalise your counter for bombing much more than the others?
Bl Maniac. Easier to increase the chaining bar, so it's easier to get into than 1.5 version.
BL God. Same as above but more intense, difficult. Feels less mechanic than 1.5 ultra, at least at my klevel of playing.

Good intro: 1.5 original / BL Original
Next step: BL Maniac.
Warmed up enough? God mode (maybe Ultra)
in my opinion.

another quick question-- whats the difference between "ARCADE" and "XBOX 360" versions? Just sharper graphics on xbox360 version? thanks!

The only real difference between the Arcade and 360 modes are, indeed, the graphics - 360 mode has much higher definition sprites than Arcade.

In other ports, there was a significant difference in terms of slowdown emulation between the two, but Futari's modes are virtually identical.

does the slowdown from Arcade to Xbox 360 mode happen in EspGaluda II also? Or is the difference there pretty much just graphics like what you're telling me about Futari?

Counting all DLC and disc games there have been 6 Cave ports** with both Arcade and HD ("360") modes. Only two ports have different slowdown between the two modes, and those are Deathsmiles and Deathsmiles Mega Black Label.

**The six are: Deathsmiles, Deathsmiles Mega Black Label, Mushihimesama Futari 1.5, Mushihimesama Futari 1.01, Mushihimesama Futari Black Label, and Espgaluda II
