The Coop wrote:$100,000-plus?!

That better be a joke bid. Humanity as a whole is doomed if it isn't.
I will laugh if it's just one person. Goodness forbid their home get ransacked or their safe deposit box burned down...cornering the market on a crap game but after having spent so much money on it is a sure way to invite serious security problems. Now that people have bid so much on these I'm almost certain somebody is going to try to steal them - I think it may backfire. Know anybody who wants to pay $40K+ on a shit NES game? Know anybody who wants to sell to somebody else, though?

Excuse me fine sirs,

Can I interest you in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to corner the market on a crappy game? SOON WE WILL RULE THE WORLD

Also, obvious shill bidding and no h-seam shenanigans ahoy. Nobody serious is interested in that one, I would hope.

Didn't someone just sell and unopened box of Nintendo Cereal for $200?

basically anything with Nintendo in some way shape or form is going to sell there is a HUGE market out there for older stuff including wallpaper, bed sheets, etc. That is one of the main reasons why I go flea market, tag sale, estate sale hunting in the spring/summer, you'll be surprised what people want for next to nothing. Or its always good for a chuckle when you see "SUPER RARE NINTENDO, 1 controller, Super Mario/Duck Hunt with ZAPPER, WORKS! Asking price 400"

If craigslist ads didn't delete in 45 days I bet we could fill 200+ pages of the crazy sales

Here's one of those rare USA static NES displays that Nintendo used to display in retail stores back in 1985-1986 and looks to be in fine mint shape indeed:

Looks kinda cool actually. I'd like to see peoples' faces if that diorama appeared in their local museum ;)

Myself...it's a bit too much space to waste on something that is, as you said, static.

For the lulz tho:

On topic: I'm amazed that Earthbound ruler went for just shy of $800 bucks. I suppose Nintendo merch has become the uber desirable gaming materialz these days.

It's a nice game (not the best shmup ever, but certainly the best original shmup on the MCD. Great soundtrack.)
It was about £3-£9 a pop two years back, so has increased quite a bit.

Surely not (then again my eyes aren't lying... I think). I picked up a Japanese copy of this off of ebay a few years back for £7 - is it just the US version that's dear?
