Requesting help with making a new title screen and game logo. I'm absolutely no good at this sort of stuff. I can use existing graphics just fine, but I am no good at making my own.

Here is the blank title screen background:

Wow, #3 looks really sharp. Except it's so big you can't see the top 2 ships :|

Yeah, 3rd one with a bit smaller text would work.

Really nice. I would just change color of the glow a bit (pure white maybe?), so it doesn't look like default Photoshop preset.

Yes, you're probably right. I'll wait for Alluro to comment first though. Don't want to spam the thread. On another note: I've began writing original music for XF-R. Ship select is almost complete. 8)

started working on my music mod before I went and spent time at my sister's this weekend, and currently these are the songs I'm using:
lilmanjs - Lakeside Reflections in Spring
.13 - Clouds (Lightness and Darkness Mix)
Zimmermann - Paste It Later
Moby - Flying Over The Dateline
Biosphere - Birds Fly By Flapping Their Wings
Mendelayev - Gravi Gun
Romeo Knight - TheSongThat WasPlayedLiveYesterdayEvening
m0d - Shooter Boss
Idiron Soundtrack - Boltris Girl
Moxil & Taxil - The Agoraphobic Apricot 4

everything but the moby and biosphere songs are free downloadable songs and none of these songs come from video games :D

Haven't heard of those titles before, but I'll get around to checking it out should you release it. :D

And +1 for the new design.

Yes, that one looks cool. It'd be awesome if you could somehow apply a more pixelated old-school look (like in RFJ) with less colours. As it is it looks too "modern" or hi-res to me.

So, what color then? White, blue, red.

Herr Schatten: I'll see what I can do. Do you mean just the text, or the whole image?

Preferrably the whole image, but hat would be a hell of a lot of work to do, even when using a program like ProMotion. (I won't volunteer.) Just the Text would be fine also. The logo is really strong. Maybe a different background picture could be considered?

Sorry, I don't know how to get a GOOD pixel look. I tried by loosing 50% size, than resizing it back to 100% without anti-alias, but it got that instant CRAP look. :D I sorta like this peeking ship idea I got.

Edit: Added a more stylized one that I think looks even better. It has some fire!

since I've had this first beta of my music mod called NonGame tested and it works like I want it to, I've decided to release the beta. the EX stage songs are not changed and the ship win songs as well. also, are the people who are making music mods changing the music in the EX stages?

I change the EX stages, though I find it quite difficult to find something fitting for those stages. If memory serves me right Skyknight did not with his music mod (correct me if I'm wrong), and Kaiser has definitely not done so.
The issue is finding something that fits - I certainly don't know many songs that fit with having flying spinning panda bears attacking you, a green walrus, or a piece of trippy chewing gum on a flying saucer with orbiting watermelons. Feel free to have a crack at it though. :D

I think I still like the original one from a few posts up the best yet. That peeking ship thing certainly has something intriguing, though.

emphatic sent me his files (thanks!) and I tinkered around with them a bit. Yes, I took a lot of inspiration from RFJ.

Hey, that looks just like I'd expect to see on a late-era Seibu or Psikyo game :o

Yeah, I doubt there will be any new renders since Isotoxin is long gone...

Wow, that's incredible!

Would a pixelized redrawing of the rendered ships in that background picture supplied by Alluro not look nice along with this awesome logo?

That title is AWESOME. :D :D :D

I suck at modelling, and I don't any decent 3D modelling/rendering programs to work with otherwise I'd give it a shot. Pixel-made graphics probably would look better anyway.

This is great. Nice, clean, pixelly.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

I hope the latest title screen pic that's been shown turns out to be the final one. also, I totally suck at the second stage boss. I always get objective failed. are you not supposed to use bombs or something?

You have to destroy the satellite the moment before it times out (which is when the HURRY UP/DANGER signs come up). Destroying it before the warning comes or letting it time out results in OBJECTIVE FAILED.

A lot of people have criticized how hard it is to gauge how much damage the radar has taken by the time it is about to time out. For the next version, the radar has been given its own lifebar. It makes it infinitely easier to gauge how much damage you've dealt to the radar.

Also, Even without the four stock ships, Herr Schatten's title screen is absolutely perfect. Definitely evokes the typical title screen of a Seibu or Psikyo game.

if I had a computer that was fast enough, I'd record some videos using the different music mods, but since I can't I've a request. could somebody make at least a couple vids for youtube that feature some of the different music mods.

I would, and my computer is certainly fast enough for recordings, but I can't upload decent YouTube videos at all. :(

Looks good and all...however, I find it strange that (and unusable since) one can't program the controls. Is this going to be a future feature?
