Unknown Sci-Fi epic space Battles…

Post by ST Dragon »

I saw this cool compilation of sci-fi space battles, combined with epic metal which is very nicely synced with the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQzpM5vhC9U#movie_player

I was wondering what movies, series, and episodes & seasons the following time frames are from?

@0:15-0:30
@1:10-1:17
@2:04-2:23
@3:00-3:07
@4:13-4:43

@5:52-6:27 - This scene interests me the most...

I loved especially the part @6:10 where the attack ships are flying sideways while blasting the larger ship’s crystal hull and then @6:17 one of them flies fast by the fire, as the rest follow after the explosion @6:19-6:27. Awesome!
I wish I knew what film this specific part is from at least…

Thanks in advance

Those clips are all from Battlestar Galactica.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

Have you tried clicking "more info" on the youtube page that you've linked?

Because the guy lists them all right there.

Just found a fine tribute to that enormous motherfucker of a space battle from Seikai no Senki. Not bad for someone's first AMV.

It was the space battles that got me to watch Battlestar Galactica. The show is kinda bad ass.
edit: That Seikai No Senki clip was cool too.

I sure did love the old one when I was a kid! Haven't seen the more recent one though.

You might recall seeing those old-school Battlestar Galactica toys like the Colonial Viper and Cylon Raider spaceships and plastic model kits on retailers' toy shelves back in the late-1970s/early-1980s. I even had a cool Milton Bradley produced BG jigsaw puzzle that depicted a cool outer space dogfight battle between Vipers and Raiders when finally completed in it's entirety. Brings back wonderful memories of an simplier era. Each one of those individual old-school BG episodes cost a fortune to produce and film (not to mention the cool special effects with minature spaceship models getting blown up in real time), especially when aired on prime TV back in the day.

I had a Cylon raider that actually shot projectiles! My buddy got one later and it didn't. Stupid child safety laws!

Yeah, the American Toy Safety laws made sure that toys didn't shoot projectiles...didn't want to issue a toy recall if too many lawsuits resulting from injuries of said toys back in the day.

The USA region G1 Transformer toys that shot projectiles were cool back in 1984. I had gotten a Roadbuster Transformer that didn't have a spring loaded cannon due to the strict USA toy safety issue in effect back in 1985. Even the Roadbuster instruction manual mentioned that if there was a spring inside the shoulder mounted cannon, the firing rate would be extremely weak at best (but there was none whatsoever). Some of the more exotic Japanese mecha toys imported to the USA still retained the kick-ass shooting projectile theme but folks had to pony up some serious cash for them back in 1985-1987, especially the Bandai produced ones.

Yeah I have, but the info only mentions the shows in general, not which seasons and episodes they're from.
The last thing I want to do is watch through 700 episodes of Stargate & BattleStar Galactica, just to spot these specific scenes...
