Yes, it also has a 15 khz modus (the graphic card has two connectors...one for the 31 khz modus and another for the 15 khz).

But be warned...the 15 khz modus looks awful.

Me too. I wonder what the chances are of having the PS2 port support progessive mode (48P/640x480)...oh thats right TypeX...forget it the port will suck.

Raiden 3 looks great - very nice graphics too, I really can't see why people have been complaining about it - look at that clearer shot of the boss!

I am more excited than ever about that Raiden III port now (hope it turns out good!)

And with the success of Mushihimesama you can bet your kittens (what?!) that Ibara will get a port as well.

Both these games look absolutely great! A veritable shmup revival!

Battle Bakraid. Review here.
I dunno. I think I'd lean toward Armed Police Batrider as the more true Garegga sequel. It looks closer, feels closer, and had more of the same team working on it.
OK, it's official, Ibara = Garegga 4

Well, last week my mate picked up Ibara (Pointman). Even though i take the piss how much he paid for it, i must admit it's pretty stunning. So here's a small vid my friend and i made of Ibara lastnight down my garage, it's of the convoy section of level 3, i latter died on the boss :x Hey it was my first session playing it okay:)

they both look incredible, and i can't wait to have some time with them. though my saturn needs some company more than i'll need the raiden III port. rsg, battle garegga, batsugun, gradius deluxe, and more have not yet been crossed off the list...
I have no sig whatsoever.

Thanks for the vid, Ex_M!

No one was kidding about the explosions and shrapnel on screen! Insane! No wonder it is already being considered a cruel mistress of a game!

Now hosting some replays of Ibara, which were downloaded from here: http://www.hameko.net/uploader/upload.php?page=all

http://ikaruga.co.uk/files/Ibara/

Note: These videos will look much nicer if they are deinterlaced and then rotated; if you use mplayer, add "-vf tfields=4,rotate=2" to your command line for nice-looking output.

You are one lucky git (for getting to play it, and him for owning it) ;)

Do you have any quick info regarding the gameplay elements as compared to previous Raizing/Cave? From my eyes, it looks very Garegga/Batrider, but with more trademark breakneck speed typical of Cave shmups.

I'm also considering putting together an ST thread from information I have from Arcadia, I wouldn't mind a bit of help from those with the game (seeing as I need to sell my PCB collection soon if I want to pay for it :P)

Okay, after watching the first 4 stages, the boss music was driving me crazy because it kept reminding me of another Raizing/8ing game....

Then I had it! DIMAHOO!!!

Thanks to everyone for the pics and vids! This game looks like it is very tough, but what a complete and absolute masterpiece!

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but how do you access/make a command line in mplayer?

I would like to know that too, it seems like that those commands are not recognised by mplayer !?

You don't, but you can start mplayer from a command line (used to be called "MS-DOS Prompt" in Windows but I haven't used a version of it newer than 98.) You'd type something like:

Code: Select all

mplayer -vf tfields=4,rotate=2 <insert path to movie file here>

My understanding is that there are GUI frontends for mplayer (including some official thing that comes with the dl from mplayerhu.hu?) that allow you to append things to the command line.

Stage 4 is Sky High...oh boy.

Thanks for the great pictures, Kirkov. Makin' me insanely jealous. :P I am now downloading the welcome vid.

EDIT: Also, i wanna say that 8 1/2 is right on the money when he says Batrider is much more like Garegga than Bakraid is.

I just watched the welcome video, very nice. The games looks like they are a lot of fun. Seeing you unfolding those beautiful posters....gah. Me wants.

And that shot of you all at the end with the wine is priceless. "Gentleman, let us drink a toast to our success! mwahahaha! *evil laugh*"

I just have one little question to the PCB owners.

I've seen two screenshots of the title screen, this one (on an auction on YAJ):

and this one posted by RFK:

Image

Which one is correct? Or are they both in the game?

I ask as this particular auction has the PCB for a nice affordable price, and I don't want any unknown versions of the game ;)
