I have to agree with MathU and adversity with this one. playxplay, bwah haha ha! The only good ones are xoxak (make more) and gmintyfresh (more like a preview?) Angry Game Nerd playing Silver Surfer..

Xoxak's reviews are not LPs, but yes he is awesome.

Xoxak merely points viewers in a direction, LPs suck the fun out of a game. If a LPer is good, like DiseasedCrabs, then they can add some humor value occasionally, but it's tough and even the good ones are on an uphill climb to keep it fresh through hours and hours (read: not successful). The Monster Party one he did was fun, but I can't remember much about it besides what was actually the game itself, pedo jokes, and him saying it explains why he has problems today...

My friend Edobean did a Let's Play to Gradius 3 SNES. She's a girl and awfully cute sounding (I guess she had a cold in this video or something, though). I make fun of her about it because she abuses the instant mega crush. She sucks at shmups she says, but still likes to play them. I guess I don't blame her too much for using it, since she's recording live I believe... and we all know how divided attention screws you up in shmups.

Recorded a new LP today, this time of Gradius Gaiden. I can't 1cc it but I make it to stage 5, which is about average for me but I was happy enough with it.

Surely it would be much better to see super plays with the player commentating through after the play obv to give some insight and general interest in what there doing where they made mistakes etc.

I think some superplay DVDs did that, but it was text on the side of the screen, not commentary.

Yeah, the Raiden Fighters Aces bonus DVD has several commentary tracks for each run, they're pretty interesting but all of the useful scoring information is already printed to the side if you don't want to listen to it. Extremely well-done DVD.

I like listening to let's plays where the player is pretty skilled at the game and knows a lot of information about it, so they can give you some hints and history while they're playing. Unfortunately, a good 90% of them are either people screaming at the game, or people who aren't funny but seem to think otherwise. Almost embarrassing to listen to those.

I agree, I'd love to see the commentary of some skilled players.
