I got to play this for a few hours the past couple days. It's really good! Now I'm totally sad I basically certainly won't get to play it again for another year, even if I'm lucky.

spineshark - 33,311,318 - Stage 3 - Asagi

Almost half that is from using Zesshikai on the last attack on Stage 2. I died a little before the third boss, but I had no chance because I was just playing the first couple stages over and over trying to get a run that I wasn't ashamed of.

I have gotten back into this, finally. I am focusing on the 1CC this time around. That last boss loves demoralizing me. The intense music during the final form makes me tense up and make a bunch of worthless mistakes. Survived to the final attack for the first time tonight.

I finally got the ALL. I'm amazed that my score is as high as it is, I went completely for survival after stage 2 to conserve life stock for the last boss. That end-game bonus is nuts--just like the first game in that sense.

From GP's old Strategy thread:
Clear Bonus
  • Basic Bonus: 10,000,000
  • Each Life: 20,000,000
  • Barrier: Max 10,000,000
  • Each Gold: 10,000
  • This is what it says, but I got about 80 million as my clear bonus, with no remaining lives, about half my barrier, and however many gold you get when you kill the last boss.
There must be points for life frames or something, too. I had about 179 million when I fired the last shot, and 256 million when I entered my score. This was on my last life with five life frames, a little bit of barrier, and maybe a little bit of gold.

Wow, that is pretty hefty. Thanks for posting dude - lazy me for not checking the strat section. :)

I'm not sure I can wait 4-5 months longer before I get to play this again (port). May have to pick up the PCB if I can find it.

Tateha's laser gets stronger the closer you are to what you are shooting. At higher power levels, she's stronger than Ageha up close. All of the bosses except 5 can be point blanked with some effort. Of course she gets weaker once she enters Kakusei, but you can largely make up for that with point blank + shot.

With Asagi, her laser lock in Kakusei is the strongest attack in the game once it gets going. Of course, in some situations you can't hit some things with it at all (boss 2 randomly for example). Overall she just sucks balls though.

One awesome thing about Asagi is that she can kill the last boss' final form in seconds using lock-on. It's one of the toughest attacks in the game so that's nice.

Updated... in anticipation for everyone and their dog buying the 360 port, I will make new tables. Everyone cool with a shared arcademode/PCB table but with a new field denoting which, then new tables for 360 mode, BL, Arrange? Fuck... this will be work. That's 9 more tables. I'm thinking a max of 10 scores each. How bad would that piss everyone off?

Proposed table layout. You can't encode code tags, so I've put each subsection in a quote.

I guess you could do away with the quote tags and do what Necro did for his Futari thread. Don't forget that you also have to track Novice and Omake scores. Maybe those could have the characters mashed together for convenience?

Not sure about omake, but have no interest in Novice tracking... I don't want to encourage anyone.

Edit: I like m layout better.

I'll likely leave the arcade table at 20 just b/c it's likely get more traffic... 10 should keep the competition high for the other modes.

You get Asagi in Arrange, not Seseri.
