Arrange mode basic mechanics writeup:

- You can stock up to 1000 gems now. Gold still capped at 1000.
- Extends every 100m points.
- You start with 5 lives.

- There are more bullet colors now:
Blue = Cancel with Shot (turns into Gems)
Pink = Cancel with Laser (turns into Gems)
Purple = Can't be canceled with shot/laser. Can be canceled by killing the parent in Kakusei/Zesshikai. Fairly rare but respawned bullets are this color too.
Dark Purple = Can't be canceled with shot/laser. Blue/Pink change to this color in Kakusei/Zesshikai, and can be canceled just like Purple bullets.
Dark Red = Bullets change to this color in Over mode. Can be canceled with anything, turn into gold (which is just worth points it seems).

Normal Mode:
- Shot Cancels Blue Bullets, Laser Cancels Red Bullets. They turn into Gems.
- If your gems are maxed out, canceled bullets still turn into Gems (not Gold).
- Switching into Laser or back to Shot causes you to LOSE Gems! You lose 5% (rounded down) of your current stock.
- No Autobomb.
- If you try to activate Kakusei while completely out of gold/gems, you just get a barrier instead.

Kakusei:
- Basically the same as normal. Multiplier still caps at 100x, all bullets cancel and turn into gold.

Zesshikai:
- Basically the same as normal? Bullets will only respawn once though.
- Respawned bullets are light Purple in color but can be canceled as in the normal game.

Over:
- Consumes Gold. All bullets turn Dark Red and can be canceled with Shot or Laser, they turn into gold bars when canceled but it isn't added to your gold meter. The size of the gold bars increases the longer you are in this mode, and they seem to be worth a lot of points at max value.
- If you run out of gold while in Over, you switch back to normal mode.

Got mine today! Kinda thought the faceplate would have been cooler, and thought the soundtrack was arranged, but it is the original Esp 2. :(

Futari's Arrange had potential...but it sucked 'cause it was too easy.

Yea, Futari's Arrange was something you play a few times for amusement. Only to just go back to normal/black label modes. I am slightly more interested in Omake mode in Esp II over the Arrange mode, but it sounds fun all the same.

If you haven't ordered already, amazon.co.jp has this marked down 21%, and its currently only 5807 yen, about 65 USD. That seems like an insane deal to me.

IMPORTANT: they don't ship video games outside of japan, so this will only work if you can get someone to help you.

My anime-loving friend told me that they do ship internationally, and apparently they do, judging by the error message I saw when I just now tried to order it, but only for some products, of which video games are not included. Looks like it didn't work then.

You can buy certain products (like movies, cds) but afaik amazon.jp does not ship video games outside of Japan.

I hope nobody else who ordered from NCSX is in the area covered by the Elmsford depot.

Shipping status:
"ELMSFORD, NY, US 02/26/2010 8:00 A.M. EMERGENCY CONDITIONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL"

I knew this would happen. Apparently the game is at the depot, but it's in storage and they won't release it. Hopefully none of you guys have this problem too.

I'm actually happy to hear that the LE's included soundtrack is the original BGM, because I'm a huge fan. It's going to go straight into my car...

So it sounds like the goal in Arrange mode is to quickly get gems, then gold, then to run out of gems and stay in Over mode for as long as possible? If the max point value of the gold bars in Arrange's Over mode(s) is really so high, why would anyone ever leave it? I'd assume that the gold bars go away, but we need to know what happens when the gold count gets down to 0.

It's a high value but it might not be as high as just snarfing up a ton of gems then using Zesshikai on everything. Zesshikai seems like it might be worth a lot less now because bullets don't infinitely respawn, BUT you can stock pile a lot more gems and you can obviously get a ton of gems from bullet canceling. You'll probably have to use both to maximize your score. Getting to the boss with max gold and then bullet milking it until you run out sounds like it might be kind of tiresome though.

Have you checked the weather in NYC today? They are getting slammed with a heavy snowstorm.

I ordered a J360 system off NCS on the phone today and they don't know if it going to be shipped out today because of the snowstorm.

We'll see about that.

The faceplate looks rubbish, why would anyone want to pay $40 extra for that?

I thought it was pretty goony looking too. Then again, I don't like any of the 'new' art that has accompanied Black Label.

I just can't wait to try Omake! Waht I like the most from this port is that we got all modes right out of the box and won't have to pay for Black Label mode. I wish Cave do it with Futari and DS.
Damn just a few more days to play the game.

I'm forty minutes from the city =\ They're getting it worse than we are, and tbh most of the snow is over. It's just frustrating that the game is literally ten minutes away from me, and yet I can't have it until Monday.

The potential mix of Over mode milking and Zesshikai sounds interesting... it's just going to be difficult to alternate because both require gold.

So I take it that despite the soundtrack taking a step down from the first game, this is in every other way the better game, and more challenging?

...also, I liked Futari Arrange, (it's the only way I'll ever beat Ultra mode) don't see why all the hate for it exists, but then again, I'm probably not elitist enough.

From the looks of it I may get the LE tomorrow, hopefully anyway. The SE is still on its way, which means I have to wait a few more days before I can try it out since I don't want to open the LE just yet :P

I can think of a few worthwhile faceplates. Most of the really nice ones are custom made though.

I haven't listened to a lot of Galuda II's soundtrack yet outside of the promo vids, but how could it be a step DOWN? The first game just had tiresome dancey electronica that sounded like the demo track off a cheap keyboard.

Ok, got this earlier today and spent the last two hours or so playing Arcade, 360 Arcade and Arrange.

Holy fuck! Both Arcade and 360 Arcade mode feel like I'm playing with WAIT OFF! The slowdown that is normally caused by transitioning enemy states is pretty much gone. It's apparent right off the bat at the beginning of stage 1: on the PCB, when you kill the large enemy that drops down from above there's a moment of slowdown as he dies.. not there in either arcade mode. There's normally also a little bit of slowdown that occurs as one boss form is damaged... gone. Also, I swear that the zesshikai bullets behave ... differently... it's hard to describe.

Gwyrgyn, BTW, you get extends every 100 million in Arrange mode. I got up to 400 million (right up to the final boss' last form) and every 100 million, right on the mark, extend. The point of the scoring here seems to be get a shit-tonne of gold, and then go into 'over-drive' with no jewels. Milk the living fuck out of large enemies and bosses! Hell, in the last two stages I was pulling about 100 million every boss. Zesshikai seems to be useful if you plan on sparingly using it, like to get a load of bullets on-screen to absorb once you go into over-drive. As soon as you run out of gold and gems, you auto-switch back to Normal mode... pressing Kakusei at this point will activate your guard-barrier.
