I have this motherboard:

any idea what the fastest processor I can put in it is? Right now i've just got a AMD 1.2 ghz and it's finally starting to show its age.

If you update the board to the latest BIOS version, it should support up to an Athlon XP 3200+.
If you're not too shy of overclocking, you could get some fantastic results for a decent bit cheaper with a Mobile Athlon XP 2500+ and a good CPU heatsink/fan setup.
