Ok Mr. SFKhoa and Shmups.system11.org to the person who was misunderstood.

As for this Shmup.org, does this satisfy your small stature? I hope so because I desire The lox mixture where it messes up.

Greetings from Singapore! :D

I usually play Caravan-style shmups or versus shmups like Twinkle Star Sprites just to pass time. Though I'll head over to the town arcade to play Deathsmiles occasionally. I'm not much of a hardcore shmupper, cos' I'll play a new game every two days~

And yes, I'm currently still getting my butt whooped at Summer Carnival '92 Recca :?

Welcome Neko :) Recca's great i highly recommend checking out the strategy section of the forum there is a great Recca guide there, also on this forum somewhere there is a link to a hack pactch called recca pure which unlocks the hidden hard and zenki modes. Plus there is a recca scoreboard (caravan shooters thread) if u want to put up ur scores in a leaderboard.

DS arcade just around the corner, damn!

Hey thanks! Yeah I'm currently using the Recca Pure patch, and I've seen score attack vids, so I'm still trying to memorise enemy patterns. So many bullets for an NES shmup

And Singapore's small, I know about 2 arcades in the town area which have DS and Espgaluda, while the outskirts have older ones like the Strikers and Raiden series and some older ones from Taito as well. Being in a small country helps, because from one end of my country to the other is a one-and-a-half hour trip :P

In order to connect Shmup.system11.org to the internet, we truly thank Neko!

We welcome shmups of the hell of the bullet because they tend to be as hard as the center of dried concrete! You must be be cautioned because the import company knows rare games are expensive. Occasionally, they will ask for the visa or master card because it is not possible to work on in regard to the actual game purchase!

Your thing now is to work eagerly to defeat games which includes powering up forward cannons and the destructive bomb droppings!

We like Neko to be introduced to shmups.system11.org! Our pastors recognize your contribution to the internet!

Magnificent standpoint today, Joboto, wow!! Something is related to Shmups11.org of which the speed of light which blinds the person that has entered!

Because of you Joboto, it makes things possible to throw the hell of the bullet into earth's atmosphere! However, we must warn you permanently concerning shmups, crimes are committed by the import dealer to make the prices so high. Take Bright Silver Gun for instance, it robs the money from your bill tray. Because the impact of the sticker shock is so high, perhaps you might avoid. Last note to player: Like the fish in the desert which dies and smells, so does your microfiber chair, which does occasionally stink of odor because of being seated for your robust amounts of time!

When the leg of your pants is blown out, your clothing will verify that you learn to use depends undergarments!

As for other things there is no supervision for the bullet of the hell! As for Shmups11.org kindly provide Joboto with courtesy for being a shmup person! You turn off!!

Hello!

I'm brand new to Shmups! I came across this forum looking for information about Death Smiles. Ever since I saw trailers for the game I've been doing more research into Shmups in general and I've found out theres so many games I've missed over the years that I feel very overwhelmed, I really don't know where to start. I own the Xbox 360 and I was very excited to hear that Death Smiles is getting a US release, I will be pre-ordering it as soon as possible.

Until Death Smiles is released I've been looking at other Cave games such as Mushihimesama Futari and Espgaluda 2. I've read only a little about each and seen some game play videos of both as well. They look like so much fun but really I can't make up my mind between the two.

I feel that this year will be big for Shmups and I'm happy and very excited to start really getting into this genre. I have recently purchased an arcade stick for the 360 and I'm dying to use it on a good Shmup! I've been playing the demo of Ikaruga a lot lately but I don't have the points to spend on it at the moment.

Thank you for having me here! and please if you have a suggestion of what I should purchase on the 360 I urge you to shoot! Keep in mind I'm brand new to the genre and I have little to no knowledge about the games themselves...unfortunately. But I am very willing to learn and I think I can learn a lot here.

In easy breath now, there is a new player in Shmup11.org!

Now many years we have seen the things doing, the cave, the milestone and compile shmuppers are in our strange cravings! Actually if an alien being destroys the cover of bid in order to take over the galaxy, we are here to discuss bulletin board strategies to recover extra lives! Note: The import dealer will be a prudence, my mighty warrior who is seen. You should know that there is a powerful trap that is put in place to make importing shmups difficult, and makes your wallet his profit source which therefore is stabilized. Approximately, the other thing which is brought to attention is that the import dealer will go reaching for the Visa or Mastercard to plow the subsidy of your pockets in order to complete the purchase!

Also, equally important is to maintain the breeze of fe nearby, because soon your family will think you smell like the rotting carcass of the beef in the sun...do not think, just do it!

Because of the reason which is clear, welcome Rakuhouha with much enthusiasm to Shmup11.org! Rakuhouha is a difficult new player!

Welcome :) I'd like to suggest a game for you, but it's hard recommend between Galuda 2 and Futari if you're as new to the genre as you are. It's hard to tell what you'd like better :P

Oh, you can definitely learn a lot here. Though the signal-to-noise ratio can get a little low sometimes. 8)

I assume you have a US-region 360? I would encourage you to cut your teeth on one or both of the cheap domestic releases of Raiden IV and Raiden Fighters Aces before getting into the $80+ import scene. If you can find RIV at your local Gamestop, it's recently been pricedropped to $20. RFA will run you the same price.

Good luck, ace!

Thanks for your warm welcome and suggestions! I think I'll start with Raiden Fighters Aces, with 3 games for only 20$ it sounds like a great deal. My birthday is tomorrow actually so I think I'll go pick that up later in the day. As for Espgaluda 2 and Futari I guess I can wait a bit on those, do some more reading about them to make my final decision about which one I would like to purchase.

Thanks again! I will post my reactions to Raiden Fighters tomorrow!

Hey there, just joined recently to try my hand at the high score boards and see if I can motivate myself to finally 1cc some games. My alias online is Braiking (named after a villain from the 70s show Casshan/Casshern) but I usually just go by Zak. I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area with my girlfriend and have been playing shooters in arcades for as long as I can remember, but those have been hard to find lately so we mostly rely on consoles, imports and MAME, but always with an arcade stick.

I'm a sucker for anything with a dystopic setting, as well as a big fan of Raizing and Taito games, Battle Garegga, Batrider, Metal Black, and Darius Gaiden being among some of my personal favorites. I'm also really into older games like stuff by Nichibutsu, Toaplan, or especially the Gradius series, but that's mostly for nostalgia.

Well, hopefully I'll have some decent highscores or something to post and'll be seeing you all soon.
Happy shmupping!

Impressive!

Many wicked shmuppers of the net have arrived in record time to Shmups11.org!

In the people who arrive, welcome to the place which bears the excellent result! Shmups11.org provides many points to the average shmupper, your questions can find results. In temptation and the rubbish, never overpay for the treasure games, because cost are of considerable quantity. You do not have to yield to the scum sack, as for it is possible to do business with the ebay method of paypal to bring happiness to the mouth of the noisy customer. Idiots, do not yield yourself to the smooth taste...this does not have to be permitted.

Note to oneself: Shmups can be as habit forming as the cigarette that is smoked. Have the paper towel ready in the labor assistant where the chemical soap is wiped to the whole of your wee tail which smells like burnt leaves!

When you find the time, and the Internet is searched, you will celebrate Shmups11.org! Your shooter of joy will be discussed!

Peace to the learner!!

Hello! I'm Shuurin from SoCal Orange County. Been something of a lurker for awhile but never really got around to posting. Mostly played Plat formers/RPGS/fighting games as a kid, but I owned some old shmups for the snes like Super R-type, R-type III, and Gradius III. I would play Raiden II occasionally in the arcade; whenever I was able to go to one.

I simply forgot about the genre entirely until just a few years back when a friend brought over Tasfro's Immaterial And Missing power or Touhou 7.5. Being a fighting game and I having no real grasp of the doujin world thought it was an original cast. Quickly discovered Touhou being some underground long running shmup gave TH6 EoSD a shot and I was re-hooked back into the shmup genre.

While I have noticed some bad blood about this board with regards to the Touhou series. I still enjoy them as shmups. Being an average shmuper it was a gateway into getting me to try out some of the more recent games. Got a 360 Elite NA and Arcade JP console, with just about every shmup on the system except Daiojou Black Label since it was pulled for being bug ridden. Don't really trust e-bay enough to buy it there, but if anyone can recommend a seller I am still looking for it. At the moment my favorite shmups are: Senko no Ronde (as it combines two of my favorite genres into one), Diadra Empty, DeathSmiles, R-type Dimensions, Mushihime Futari, and Touhou 11

Also, (wow this got longer than I thought it would) any recommendations on any other shmups: Hori/vert, ship/human/thing. I am not to picky on the looks, just game play.

Get serious!

Already, being fortunate alone, because the feverish player hides, Shuurin came out, and connected to Shmups11.org! I am moved interestingly! Because as for Shmups11.org we in those shot the maneuvers in order to melt extreme competition, suddenly, Shuurin is repelled!

The resource which the inspection our man seems to hear, as for the heroic player, Shurrin will play shmups until the season of the chestnut and the red pepper returns in the spring!! As for the import dealer which has the cash of the feeling which does not jump and/or or is mixed with the All-American tar association, the members of Shmups11.org will silence the mouth of the overpriced item like Cave or Raising the dead...we'd rather you used the visa or master card which is not specific to he who tries to exclude co-paying the crafty dealer of import games.

Getting high is cooler than a small shovel!

In addition, your thing which sits down on the tide soap of agitation will allow your to avoid the tidal wave of odor which can damage your rear section. Because shmupping is as natural as a suction cup, give Shuurin everything Shmups11.org has!

Now is possible to party, (Shmupping) because Shuurin has began the excavation of a deep hole!

Post by esreveR »

Hey, this thread DOES exist!

Well, I call myself esreveR, though I'm also often known as Reverse in Reverse, Dave, God, That asshole, IRCAPSWHORE, and rather humorously Assreaver. I live in Orange County in Southern California (Hey, did someone mention that before?), and I got hooked on shmups ever since I saw Raiden II at my local car wash. That was a very long time ago and I was very small then. It's a shame it's not there anymore, but I have other arcades I can visit, fortunately.

Upon finding that Raiden II had a sort of Flash remake called Raiden X, I got a renewed interest in the whole thing, and I got one run where I looped at least five times on Hard, but sadly I never recorded my score. However, I found out about emulators soon afterward, and soon I had Raiden Fighters games running in MAME and the list grew quite a bit from there (I have 99 games in MAME now, although I also have a couple of others in different emulators, such as Kawaks and such...).

That sort of led into run-n-gun, and now I'm a major Metal Slug fan, to the extent of actually buying those games simply for the sake of saying I truly own them. That in turn led to beat-em-ups, and that led to fighters, but I'm still mostly a shmup person, and as a general rule the further you get from shooting, the worse I perform.

I'm very interested in sprites and game programming as well. It's very interesting to understand how games tick. I've 1cc'd quite a few games, but since I tweak all of the dipswitches before I even start playing (Difficulty maximum, lives maximum, energy maximum, time maximum, bombs maximum, pretty much everything at maximum, because it's funnier that way) I can't really call the scores legitimate. I also tend to use savestates to continue a game I left off yesterday, and I use autofire for the sake of keeping an intact keyboard, and stuff. Yeah. No good for real scores.

I'm also kind of quirky. People say I have over nine thousannnd fetishes, though so far I've only counted 102, am obsessed with various video game gals but still manage to keep a girlfriend, listen to video game OSTs by opening the games in an emulator and playing them via sound test, and hear voices in my head at night that argue whether Eraser's missiles or lasers are better. Oh and I jack off to planes. No kidding.

I like to hang out a lot on the Metal Slug Database, mainly because it's dead enough for people to not bother me constantly. If you seriously want to contact me (You probably won't, to save yourself from untold horrors), I am online pretty much 24/7 on Windows Live Messenger, which I presume I put the information out for somewhere in my account.

Large " hi" goes out to the reversed name in order to approve himself intentionally to Shmups11.org! We can now permit shmupping which starts freshly!

In regard to walking which is fast, there is a good taste bud in "pistol type" shooters. "Slugger, the metal" is a valuable part of my collection of New Geo tapes! Many of a cool person comes again assembling the mechanism of their gyro compasses in shmups11.org! We offer the point and the maneuvers which obtains level difficulty, to directly solve the problem of your organic brain! However, we must warn off game imported....many impure import dealers stick their greedy hands in your designer shorts, to lift cash easily! As for this, you can avoid an investigation where the member of the shmups forum which suffered from your shame is careful. It matured, just think!

In addition, many times in your dining room, your hind legs will become sour from sitting long hours playing shmups. Please make an attempt which washes the rear side of you in which oil is removed. You will feel like a naked person for a long time!

Opposite of forward, welcome in shmups11.org...the box of person where you are number one!

It shakes!!

Been hanging around the forum for some time now, and decided it was time to join :)

Been a fan of shmups since I was a little kid, though I for some reason never really played any. When I got my Wii I began buying a few of the classics like R-Type, Gate of Thunder, Lords of Thunder and one more I can't remember the name of (shame on me), but again, the thought never occured to me there might be something never.

So when I, by chance, got hold of Crimzon Clover, I was hooked. I've played around 8 hours (around 90 times I think) and, to my great surprise, actually managed to 1CC it here the other day. :D Will probably be putting up a highscore one of these days...

The past week I've been looking into Cave-shmups, namely DonPachi, and trying to learn a bit more of notable games in the genre (I find evolution of games incredibly interesting).

Oh, and my name's Malik, I live in Denmark, study computer science, and plan to get into game development when I'm done :)

Greetings Smups11.org,

I haven't been lurking around these forums - I won't lie! To be honest, I'm surprised that there are others that share an interest in this genre.

I started with "Ariel Assault" on SEGA's Game Gear, and played it until 1cc'ing it (if you can even do that on a console exclusive...)
From that I started with MAME and focussed on the Cave shooters as they are all awesome).

My favourite shooters are DDP: DOJ, Deathsmiles, Chaos Field, R-Type Final, Gradius Gaiden / 5 and a host of others. I have an imported X360 console (for the shooters) and own all but "The Shooting 20XX" or whatever it is called.

I would love to buy a Supergun for the arcade version of Ibara and Ketsui), but can't afford at the moment...

Oh, and I speak/read/write a little Japanese!

When robbing on shmups of your dome, as for shmups11.org registering dissatisfaction concerning hard shmups in order to give the edge of level difficulty, therefore it succeeds with the game!

The non- good behavior of the salesman of import be careful, he is up to no good. The scum sack tries to snatch cash from the wallet of your jeans. Drop, because of the old gag!

Greetings, fellow outcasts of society! I come to you from Brooklyn, NY!

I've been lurking around on this forum for a little while now, and the only reason that I've only just now registered is because I'm close to buying a 360 and Deathsmilies when it get's released out here in America, and I figured I might as well talk about it with others. Previously, I only owned a PS2 and I played Cave shmups on it. Those games were pretty much the only games I ever play now.

I've never really been interested in playing video games. When I was younger, I believe I saw commercials for the Nintendo 64 console and I expressed complete disinterest, which is probably the reason why my parents don't buy me games; they don't know what I like. Today, I look at the Wii, the 360 (My opinion of it has changed due to the CAVE shmups on that system) and the ps3 and I see nothing special about them; nothing that interested me. My brother owns a DS, which I use as an MP3 player. It was only recently that I looked at that "HARDEST BOSS EVER OMGWTFBBQ" on youtube, featuring the TLB of Mushihimesama Futari. I was stunned, but I definitely wanted to play it. I got my hands on a copy of the name for the ps2 and I'm loving every second of it.

My favorite shooters are Dodonpachi, Dodonpachi Daioujou, and Mushihimesama. I am interested in the following shmups: Deathsmilies 1 and 2, Radiant Silvergun, and Espgaluda.

If you didn't guess from my avatar and my user name, I am a wannabe-audiophile. The ATH-A700s are actually headphones that I am receiving as a gift from my uncle... which still hasn't arrived yet even though it was shipped 2 weeks ago. I started off with dollar store headphones, at first seeking privacy while listening to music, then upgrading to a $20 pair, and now I'm receiving audiophile quality headphones as a gift! :D

If you just read the above paragraph, you would probably deduce that I am incredibly reclusive and shy about my interests. If someone asks me about what games I play, I simply respond "Shooting games," followed by "No, not games like Modern Warfare 2." I have no social life, probably because I can hardly relate to anyone.

Holy crap this is long.... I'll end this by saying I'm happy to be here and I'm excited for what the year 2010 has for shmups!
P.S. Please ignore any mistakes with my grammar if you see any.

I registered a few months ago but I figure i'll do the intro...

I'm trying to bump up my weak 1cc list and become a better player overall...reading some of the strategy topics here have/may help. I've always been a major 2D fighting fan...but within the past year and 1/2 I've been playing shooting games more than anything else.

I'm far from ignorant to the genre...but I will never contribute anything to this forum.

Thanks!

Nah, don't think you'll be like that. Eventually, you'll start to figure out your own strategy and you can use that knowledge to help those that are less skilled. Refining and all that.
