They're both equally bad in their own ways.

To me the LE is the sort of cover I would expect if it got localised in the West. I don't like it at all, it looks like a kids tv show.

The faceplate looks ace though.

And, who cares what boxes look like.

The faceplate is very cool, agreed. I had the LE ordered and was in the process of ordering a J360, but since the announcements I've gone for the SE and am holding off on the 360 until I know if future Cave games will get a European release.

I don't really see it. Just an opinion, but I would have been all over this if the character was not laying down w/ her feet in the air and was rather just in the stance that is on the cave sticker poster, the same image that is at the end of the black label trailer.

Speaking of the covers....It really irks me that Cave put all of the female characters 'front and center' on the cover, and has a bunch of pastel colors about. You can barely see the guy, and he even has missles shooting at him. It's like "we don't want you here, man!".

It seems like with...well, everything since Futari, the girl characters(or little boys) are up on the covers. Well, with Futari and DS, it was a good representation of the games. This time though, it's not. The game actually has a really cool look, and doesn't strike me as "girly" in any way. But the covers would make you think so. Even the PV only showed the girls and little boys. "No men here! Nosiree!".

Just had to vent there. Oh well, they can't do that to Ketsui.

Well to be fair, the only real male in ESPGaluda is Ageha :p

But yeah, I see your point-- but I bet putting the moe factor on the cover of stuff makes or breaks sales to otaku in Japan :P

Speaking as somebody who once fancied a career in illustration, the SE cover strikes me as if Hirooka intended the drawing to be a huge poster. When somebody (most likely Cave) decided they needed a tiny A4 flyer instead, he just moved Asagi up and made her wings kinda transparent so all the characters would fit into the allotted space.

There's no way I'd spend the time to draw and color a fully-detailed figure (like Ageha is) if I intended to almost completely cover it up with something else. It's wasted effort...but better that than the alternative of scrapping the entire drawing and starting over with a better composition. Illustrators can't afford to be Mihara. 8)

...The LE cover is much better in this regard, but the perspective is off and the characters are badly-proportioned. :(

IMO, Asagi is featured prominently because she's the new character, not just because moe moe~ kyun. Same thing with the OST cover and the previously-linked poster...same reasoning behind putting Seseri on the LE cover and faceplate (because she's the new character for BL).

I might be bit different but I like the LE more, since the SE looks too fancy IMO. It is a bit more serious and fits much better.
When I look at the SE cover I get sick, I don't know where to look at it disturbes me. Although I agree with honorless in regards the proportions of the characters.

That actually looks really nice, and I'd probably like it even if it had nothing to do with ESPGaluda. Is there a larger version anywhere?

This piece is still too chick centric for my tastes, but this would have been an interesting alternative to the cover chosen.

Is that OST cover gonna be for the ones that come with the game or are those gonna be packaged inside the game case?

Because that looks classy as hell.

No, you can play 2P. It would probably be a carnival of fail, but you can.
2P shmupping can be fun. Playing Futari competitively against someone (stealing power ups, hording the gems, etc.) is a lot more fun that you'd assume. Kakusei mode might weird things up a bit though.

I see 3 'chicks' and 3 'males' in that pic. :P Again, Asagi's likely the biggest just because she's the new character.

(I have a 9409x11232 102mb pic of the top half of that, and I really don't know why)

Oh man, that's completely priceless. Also wow at the amount of bullet-canceling in BL. She's just shooting things and that's enough to, uh, not dodge anything that's not coming from a [mid]boss.

Looks fun. :D

Def priceless. I need to find a way to save this video. I'm surprised I missed the link you posted in the thread a few posts ago Honorless! Thank you so much! If someone knows how to save the video to one's HD, could you pm me? Nice find!

I took your advice, and after many failed attempts through vid web download websites, I typed in google, "save nico video." A Yahoo 5 star answer to this question said, "There are some programs and plug-in to download videos from nicovideo. But how about this website?
http://www.vid-dl.net/
or
http://toshichan.selfip.org/
log in to nicovideo, put url address, download."

....However, this failed too.

I will continue my search for these plug-ins or programs tomorrow as I must sleep. This video is too good.

EDIT: Oh god... I just noticed that the yahoo directions say I must "LOG IN." I'll try that tomorrow before searching for plug-ins and shit. Thanks again.

I linked that Yahoo answer in my previous post.

The first service they link should give a usable MP4 without requiring download - I'm grabbing a 39.1MB file from it now.

The achievement list is out (...and probably has been for a long time—I just never thought to look for it)

Also (thanks to EOJ for the alert) the official site is up.

edit: Better link; the @wiki actually shows the secret achievements.

Do you have it the 39.X MB video on your harddrive. I've tried to dl from two different computers and I get an error 403 whatever that means. If you can get it or dl it, could you send to it to my gmail? I would owe you one big time. My email is: supergrafx@gmail.com . Fingers now crossed. :)

Lovely:
Get both extends on stage 1: 50
1CC the game w/ all characters *including* beating Shin Seseri: 60

That's the hardest 10 points I've ever heard of.

According to NCSX: Our Espgaluda II preorder numbers beat Mushihimesama Futari's numbers by a wide margin.

So.. is that evidence that Espgaluda II sales are going to exceed Futari, which would surprise me? Or is it evidence of Play Asia's Futari failure?

Haha, guess we'll see. Maybe people who missed out on Futari and looking to pick this up though.
