Random, Broken verizon cell phone, ideas?

Alrighty- this isn't Shmup hardware, and is very OT- so here goes.

I have a verizon Envy 2(I think it's called). The main screen seems to be getting backlight, but no picture comes up (on internal or external). Everything else seems to function just fine. I have opened it and reseated any video cables I found.

That being said- it's something else that I don't think I can fix.

Is there any way to pull the information out of the phone? I would love to get my text messages and calender info back. (can the verizon store do this, could I do this?)

It's possible that it could be done if you take it to the Verizon storefront and have them transfer the info to a new phone. I know that they can transfer contact lists from one phone to another, but the thing is that you'd have to get a new phone. Is that something you're willing to do?

If you do go for a new phone, be sure to check if there's any MicroSD card in the phone. (I put a small one in my ancient V3m, but can't do much with it.)
