please dont email cave asking them why it's only the regular edition. we want them to know how happy we are to get it region free at all!!!
we want future titles to be region free too! :)
ultimately, please show your support by buying the game, however you can play it.

thanks everyone for the nice emails to cave (i know i sent one asking for region free).

They CAN'T have made it as last-minute as this. Regardless of when they did it, they just happened not to make that information public until so recently.
It's not a question of Announcements, it's a question of timelines. The game finished certification just before the end of January, according to the CAVE blog. Replication SHOULD have started after that, unless they gambled on being approved and started before. At some point after replication began on the LE, they got the application in to approve the change. Realistically that means the decision should have been made within the 3-4 weeks and that's pretty late if they based it off Mushi import sales.

How many people care if the LE is JP only or not, most people buying that'll keep it sealed anyway.

No, everyone knows they open it to ash their joints in while they grow marijuana out back to fund CAVE.

Seriously though, I'm extremely glad it's not the other way around. Fuck the LE and its faceplate AND the whores it rode in on.

Never really cared about the faceplate, and its cool enough that the Standard Edition comes with the soundtrack.

Just got my standard edition from NCSX. Here's the math. Damn NY sales tax... I think Mushi came out to cheaper on Play-Asia but it also took FOREVER to ship to me. I figured NCSX is a good bet since in live in NY.

Subtotal: $74.90
Shipping & Handling: $7.57
Tax: $6.08
Order Total: $88.55
Surcharge: $2.66

Final Total: $91.21

Out of curiosity, who is porting this anyway? Is it M2 like Mushi Futari?

I'm pretty sure Cave handled the port internally. I never heard that any other developer was attached to the project.

Weird news about the region setting huh - If it's true what they've actually done is lowered the demand for the L.E... haven't they? Maybe there hasn't been much interest in localizing so at the last minute they're trying for a few more sales... there by cancelling out sales if the title was ever to be localized... urg, my brain hurts.... Hope it's true, good news for gamers anyhow and maybe my J360 will last a bit longer - until Ketsui lands.

How does this lower demand for the LE? Nothing has changed with that version.

Anyone who wants to throw down for the extra shit will still do that regardless of the SE's region.

Or maybe I'm missing the point...

I don't understand why anybody is complaining at all? I was under the impression that this was pretty much certain to be region locked completely. Now that it's determined that the SE is not- it's a bad thing?

On a related note- how many people saying "lol cave owned you" and such actually pre-ordered the LE expecting it to be region free? I could swear in Mushi's case they said it was just a test run.

Anyways- this is good news for anybody that has not gotten a j360 yet-very fun game.

Good news, but in my games collecting lust, I'm getting the LE. I didn't plan on getting the regular edition. Now that it has the bonus of working in any of my 360, I will pick one up too. So, it's a good news that is making spend more money on the game.

I don't complain and I know I'm part of very specific market that will end up buying both because of that.

Quite happy actually this is region free. I just invested in a stick...

I don't get why anyone should be unhappy about it. If you preordered your LE blindly hoping for the game to be region free... maybe you deserved to get burned somehow.

I'm in the same boat.

I literally logged on this morning to find the SHMUPS for XBOX360 thread to try and convince myself to buy a JP console and then saw the news in this thread.

God, that would be fucking hilarious if a whole bunch of people bought the game because of what was posted on Kotaku and it turned out to be wrong.

I think that anybody is complaining it is just that it is a bit weird IMO. Everyone is saying that the replication of the LE started first but what I don't get how it is possible when the disc is the same the only difference is the package, I mean the art box and the extra faceplate.
Maybe I am mistaken because I don't know how the replication of DVD's is handled but I have always thought that you send the master and then the replication of the disc is done. After that some DVD's have a LE box and the others SE box.
I guess I was wrong all along :?:
