Espgaluda II
Re: Espgaluda II
The price for 360 games in the US is usually 60 dollars. As opposed to 70 + shipping. It's certainly more expensive to import but not double.

Everything is pretty much $60 MSRP unless they expect poor sales.GaijinPunch wrote:DS's MSRP is $39.99ncp wrote:The price for 360 games in the US is usually 60 dollars. As opposed to 70 + shipping. It's certainly more expensive to import but not double.
Sometimes vendors will have a sale right out of the gate, then it holds at MSRP until sales have fallen off. The shrews vendors like Amazon now give you a $10 discount off your next game purchase, when you buy a hot new release. You then have to use it within a few months.
Toys R Us now seems to have the best deals for brick and mortar. I think on Bioshock 2 they gave 2 decent action figures, plus a free $10 gift card. You had to be a reward card holder or something. Best Buy has gone to shit in regard to sales, now that Circuit City is gone.

Re: Espgaluda II
Thats got to be BS surely, If the content on the disc is the same then why would it need to be put through a different set of authorising?

Re: Espgaluda II
Yeah, exactly. But i think the process may apply like that for different editions/revisions/versions. Anyways though, I think i should take my post down, i probably just served to completely derail the thread....Kron wrote:Thats got to be BS surely, If the content on the disc is the same then why would it need to be put through a different set of authorising?

Re: Espgaluda II

This would be a nice punch in the suck to all those non-believers out there if the info on Kotaku is true. Time will tell.

Oh definitely. This came from pretty much left field, i don't see why one would BS about it, unless a latter excuse is: Sorry, lost in translation.lawnspic wrote:This would be a nice punch in the suck to all those non-believers out there if the info on Kotaku is true. Time will tell.

Re: Espgaluda II
Are you talking about the SE being region free and the LE being region locked? Sounds like the LE had to go through pressing first for some reason.Kron wrote:Thats got to be BS surely, If the content on the disc is the same then why would it need to be put through a different set of authorising?
And they generally do w/ shooters... this one in particular.Everything is pretty much $60 MSRP unless they expect poor sales.

Re: Espgaluda II
Is that even possible? It's definitely never been done before.
Re: Espgaluda II
Now let me tell you that this news makes me happy, despite the fact i just laid out money for a Jp arcade system and DS. I'm for the region free thing but localization can be scary (missing content, and western bastardization of Jp content) I hope the info is true so we can witness some crooked face chicken heads on this board, ha!

Re: Espgaluda II
So, only the limited edition is "first print" then? Or how would this work otherwise?

Re: Espgaluda II
Awesome.
Maybe they will suggest to 5pb that they make Ketsui region-free. Then I won't have to buy a JPN xbox to play ONE game.

Excellent. I believe Kotaku, they've printed bad rumours before, but not to my knowledge printed outright fake quotes.

Just when I was despairing that I had to buy a J360 just to play this~ I'm thrilled.
I wonder if I can still preorder it.

Re: Espgaluda II
I don't understand it really. Isn't supposed to be the master copy the same???? The only differences betwen both is only the art box and the faceplate but the data must be the same. I have a japanese 360 and a LE preordered but I don't get that move.
I hope that doesn't mean extra content on the LE disc ripped from the SE.

What I find surprising, is that CAVE made this decision at the last moment. I wonder what they were waiting for?

Also, you do know that the vast majority of "those fancy 3D modern games" are region free, right?DC906270 wrote:why would you buy a US or PAL region XBOX 360 if you like shmups? unless you prefer to play those fancy 3D modern games instead. in which case it wont bother you you cant play a few shmups that come out in Japan.
Almost all of my 80+ US 360 games work fine on my Japanese system. Only a few exceptions (DOA4, Koei games), mostly Japanese developed games with a bigger fanbase in Japan, and the publisher decided to make the western releases region locked to prevent importing (more cheaply) into Japan. I hear EA region locks some stuff too.
Re: Espgaluda II
They CAN'T have made it as last-minute as this. Regardless of when they did it, they just happened not to make that information public until so recently.njiska wrote:What I find surprising, is that CAVE made this decision at the last moment. I wonder what they were waiting for?
Re: Espgaluda II
yes this is controversial.
it's a matter of "cant please everybody" as I am sure there are non J360 owners who want the limited edition. I hope we can all be happy that the game is just region free. In the end, everyone wants to be able to play the game.
Thank you CAVE! And hopefully the rest of their games will stay this way!
