What requirements to unlock higher stages G-Net ver. Psy-R?

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

In the Psyvariar Revision Taito G-Card version that runs on the Taito G-Net hardware, what are the minimum requirements to unlock the "higher" stages?

I really like the overall "raw" look of the Taito G-Net graphical presentation when using a true RGB monitor...the PS2 version of Psyvariar Complete doesn't have the same effect (due to anti-aliasing and other graphical enhancement tricks that the PS2 console uses to improve the true low resolution arcade vertical/horizontal side-scrolling shmups).

I've noticed that you can turn off the miscelleanous data when watching a Psyvariar-R replay on the Taito G-Net by simply pressing & holding down either Button A or B.

I've also noticed that the high score ranking and successive score ranking portions on the Taito G-Card of Psyvariar-R really does keep track of the "Top 20 Highest Scores of Successive Ranking" even if the highest score is the 1st place one shown. The high scores are saved to the actual Psyvariar G-Card itself (even though the Taito G-Net mobo already has a built-in Back-Up Ram board to save game data settings, etc.).

you can turn off the filters on the ps2 rev.

looks pixellated and stuff but ultimately it looks better.

its somewhere in the menu, you can set the value from 0 (no filter) to 100 (much filter)

Even if you set it to '0' it still is not as raw as the G-Net originals. We are talking R A W. :)
