I have the E language firmware. I just get the colors right, for some reason.
EDIT: I am getting the hang of this now. It's Black Level and Gamma that I didn't quite get.
The Wii sure looks nice on this thing. SP2 looks wonderful.
OK, I am probably gonna get a "no" here, but is there ANY way you can blow the picture up a bit, without resorting to B0? I would just like it to fill up the screen vertically.
I recently tried a few PS2/PS3 3rd party RGB cables and they were quite ok. No visible difference to the original and definitely better than using the Sony component cables.
Hey guys, I was wanting to get another one of those RGB to D Terminal adapters that come with the XRGB3. Where can I get one, and what exactly am I looking for?
Also, that cable you guys were talking about for the PS2(the one with less interference)...am I looking for a Japanese SCART cable for the PS1 and 2?
They are legit. Haven't used them myself but a friend of mine has an account there and purchased an Astro city front panel for me. Items get shipped from the Yahoo Auctions seller to shoppingmalljapan and from them to you. Took about 14 days before i recieved it
But when I put it(or anything else for that matter) in the search for Shopping Mall Japan, all that happens is I get a yellow page that tells me it's searching, and then it gives me a white box where I can type something. If I do that, and press search or whatever, it just does nothing.
I'm willing to PayPal the money to someone who already has this junk figured out, as long as they have a good reputation in the Trading Station.
Didn't think you liked scanlines and B1 mode, WTF?
LOL... I wondered the same thing when I took the picture! I figured I might get a comment like yours by posting a picture in B1 mode (since B0 is my preference).
Hmmm... I need to build a batch of these cables! I have a number of these cables without the 21 pin connector, but the exact same cable used in the SCPH-1050... The unterminated PS RGB cables are almost 9 feet long! The SCPH-1050 looks like it's about the same length, which is way too long IMO... 5 feet is just about right...
PM me if you'd like me to build you an equivalent cable to the SCPH-1050...
Is there any way to reduce the pixelated look that games like DOJ and ESP have? They look great on a CRT, but through a XRGB to a LCD they look a bit more pixelated. Polygons are also more jaggy(such as in Shadow Of The Colossus). Any ideas?(and don't tell me to choose 7 on sharpness)

Connect your system via composite video or RF connection.
Well, I have it hooked up to my CRTs via Component cables, and they look great.
Is this just a LCD problem?
There is a picture of Galuda on Fudoh's Deinterlacing page. It's right beside Mushi. It looks just like it does on my CRT. It does not look like that on my monitor. It's a lot more jaggy on it.
The difference should be in the display's scaling engine. The NEC LCDs I used for the screenshot have a great scaling engine which does hardly introduce any artefacts. What about your monitors sharpness setting ? Display behave differently when fed with their native res and with VGA only. Make sure to decrease sharpness as far as possible - which isn't the same as "zero", as low settings usually smear / blur the picture. High settings introduce too much sharpness which might be what you're seeing.
By the way: all the XRGB screenshots which don't show scanlines are taken in B0 with 1600x1200 resolution setting, but B1 should generally be less sharp...
Yeah, I turned down the sharpness to 0 in my display, but it only helped a little.
So, right now, I have decently less attractive picture than a 20 inch Toshiba sitting on my bedroom floor. Let's not even compare it to my HD RCA that just blew up.
You think it's my monitor then? I can live with this for the time being, but i'd like to know I can do better in the future.
One of the things I have noticed is that I have scanlines, even with scanlines turned off.

did you do a firmware upgrade yourself ? There has been a bug which caused scanlines to be slightly visible even when the scanline value was set to maximum. A hardware reset should so the trick.
And regarding your picture quality issues: it's very hard to actually judge any quality by your description. Why not get your digicam and take a few snapshots to show us what's bothering you ?
hold MENU and OK while pressing the POWER button to turn the unit on (buttons on the machine, not the remote). You'll loose your settings, but not your firmware.
Will a Consolized Neo Geo MVS work with scanlines on the XRGB-3? I assume it will, but since my Master System Converter II doesn't work in anything but B0 mode i'd like to be sure before i buy one
