I read that they didn't really have any complaints, they also said it had high production values, and fans of maniac games wouldn't be disappointed.
They also pointed out that it had lots of settings to mess with.

Just so everyone's up to date, the same mag gave

DeathSmiles 8978
Futari 8876

So, it basically has the same score as Futari.

Famitsu Weekly gave

DeathSmiles 7778
Futari 7778

Actually, I used to have an account here years ago and since I just sit back and read mostly and never posted anything since someone always inevitably asked a question I may have, I see no point. Most of my posting on the internet is probably motorcycle related, as I do my own maintenance on my 99 Triumph Daytona 955i. I find it funny when someone who has a high post count in a video game forum, sheds his or her arrogance as some kind of guru or rather superior being on what you consider a "newbee." F'n ridiculous.. You don't know me from adam. I could be your long lost brother you never knew you had. Many people are awaiting confirmation on the region status. I don't care if it's one's opinion that whoever should or not get a j-x360. Someone just happened to make a post saying that Espgaluda II had been made region free. If this is not the case, that person is a dick. I'm shoveling snow right now and dealing with my kids occasionally checking this, if this is BS or not. I'm getting the feeling that it is BS and some people on this forum are even more childish than my own.

Jesus christ, he was just joking, nobody knows if it's region free or not. But it's most likely not.

As for the rest of your post, this isn't really the place to tell people about your motorcycle posting habits or shoveling snow. Maybe you'd like to get a Twitter account?

I already knew that no one knew till this point that the game was region free or not until that post was made which raised the question. That's why I've been checking up on here, cave's stg site, and google everyday. It's a waste of my time and others when someone makes a comment like this. What kind of comment is this really, but an arrogant one at that. I'm not posting here everyday asking the question if it is region free or not. But when someone says it is, I will. I was actually stupidly looking at an Japanese 360 on ebay that was going down in 10 minutes and for better or worse chose not to bid because of "his" comment. Maybe you should not tell me what kind of account to get and go back to games or something. I was just trying to illustrate that some of us have lives other than 虫姫さま or エスプガルーダ. I apologize if I come across as an asshole but this really got my hopes up. And the fact is, it is high probability that the owner of that statement is probably happy that he stirred things up. This forum is far from kotaku or something where idiots talk crap all day long. We are a niche audience and I expect higher from those who walk this path in bullet hell.

Honestly, if it was region free we'd have known about it months ago.

I was just joking with you dude. But if you had the time to write your two explanation post shortly afterwards you should have had the time to realise that region free post was an obvious joke :)

Lessons to be learned: Special World posts can be ignored, ESPGaluda II is almost definitely not region free (I say in the present tense because it's already been decided if it is or not), people will always pick on first posters that fall for a bad joke whether they are lurkers or not.

edit: sorry meant present tense.

I am glad to hear that. That means that Cave likes to do the good ports. I really hope for a vast array of video options just like Futari.
Only 4 weeks to taste it :)

Man, I don't even know how I'll find the time for all the Galuda playing I'll be doing. It looks equally as quality as Futari, but seems like it'll get even more playtime considering it's much more its own game.

Watching the youtube videos, the bullet patterns are mesmerizing. I thought I had seen all that could be seen in bullet patterns with Futari and all its various modes, but Espgaluda 2's bullet patterns seem much more intense, which may in fact be too much for me since I've only been able to get to Futari's 3rd stage on one life in both 1.5 and black label original modes. It does look like a beautiful game.

EDIT: But I better stop looking at Espgaluda II and play more Futari, as obviously it is not going to be region free and the thought of having two 360s, I just cannot fathom...regardless if it is still cheaper than the pcb....

God, I know. I have four 360s in my room right now -_____________________________-

And the damn TE Fightstick, which should count as one because it could double as the fucking monolith from 2001.

Ah, but does Futari give you Kakusei mode or a guard barrier?

I know folks here are talking about how Galuda 2 is much more difficult than the first, but those two gameplay elements were big reasons why Galuda 1 was much easier to progress in than many (or most) other Cave shmups, and they're still around in the sequel. Zesshikai (did I spell that right?) looks dangerous, true, but if you're just playing for survival, it can be ignored. It doesn't look like the extend scores are unreachable without it.

For the record, I too am stuck on the 3rd stage of both Futari Original modes, but I've reached the final boss in Galuda 1. I expect that I won't be able to get quite so far in the sequel (at least, not right away), but I'd like to think that I'll see past stage 3, at least!
