SF Bay Area Shmupmeet - 3/6 (is over)

Post by Dave_K. »

Ok, I've got Espgaluda II BL pre-ordered, and chose EMS shipping this time, so I should have it well before the following weekend of 3/6. Since Antron held the last one for Futari, thought I'd offer to host at my place this time, its been far too long.

More details to come...

[update]

Espgaluda II port received. Haven't played it more than a 30 minutes to test out the setup on my Windy II and it seems just as complicated as the PCB (if not more so with all the new modes). :P

I'm sending out a PM to all those who responded with details. Shmupmeet times and house rules are same as before. I won't do a list of games, as its your standard Cave lineup everyone is expecting, plus some hidden gems, but mention I have more cabs setup for horizontal this time around. I'm open to more competitions, but have to think about something new we haven't done or played yet.

Here are the list of attendees so far:
Kiselgof
Ish
Segasonicfan
antron
IlMrm
BER +1
louisg +1
Alec
Jugu

YES! "You GOT to believe it" (Dave's quote is better).

anyone want me to bring Cotton original PCB? it's the only shmup I have left and it is up for sale, maybe it'll be gone by then.

Didn't you move Dave? I want to see some new pics of the setup. Your old setup was pretty rad, so I'm curious how the new one would look.

Yes, pork is in the house!
caldwert wrote:Didn't you move Dave?
I was all set to move, but then wall street took that dive in early 2009 and took my home value along with it, so had to stay. At least the rad garage is still intact.

I've got the 360 port (with DSMBL DLC) so I think its covered. If Antron wants to bring down his 360 + Jamma setup, then we could have both DS and Espgaulda II ports running at the same time in hires on the Exceleena and Windy cabs.

Ah, very understandable about the market and the house Dave. That being said that garage is rad. Did you ever sell that Spyhunter you were trying to move?

I can bring the 360, but my controllers hacks aren't jamma. Maybe I can make an adapter by then, or worst case bring the whole harness and just connect to your panel.

caldwert, I was this close to selling Spy Hunter, but my wife had a change of heart, said no to the deal, and asked me to keep it...so still here. :D

Louis, any chance we can run this on your saturn? Might require a mod-chip or something?

Antron, sorry, I thought I remembered you showing me a fingerboard in your old garage (or maybe it was for a different console). Anyway, if its going to be a hassle to setup, don't bother, and we'll ask Mikhail to bring his DS board.

Alec man, that would be sweet if you can make it, and bring that bad ass Ibara-BL. I still want to get more time on that.

dave, what is that? homebrew booter? or really just a gamesave manager? I've gotten pretty good at the swap trick on my model 1 saturn.

yeah, it's got PS1 controller hacks. I'd pick up one of those 360 adapters if I didn't already have hacked 360 controllers.

Its a save game manager hack for Dezaemon 2 (saturn shmup maker program). If your swap trick can boot burned cd's (regardless of region), then we should be able to run it. Of course we also need a memory card/module capable of storing the save game data.

I've taken a bit more of an interest in meeting up with other fans in the area as of late :D

Unfortunately, I don't think I can make this one - I have company due in from overseas on the 6th, and I can't just strand him at SFO!

Dave, where in the area are you located? North/South/East/SF proper?
I most definitely hate your favorite shooter.
For the sake of our own sanity, let's not even talk about Psikyo, Battle Garegga, or DDP DOJ with each other.
