Wow, that mode in the end of the video with those dark red bullet rings look interesting. Would that be the two-button mode?

Fuck, I was too stupid to figure out the system for the vanilla version of this damn game, and then they throw these clusterfuck arrange modes into the equation. That dark red stuff looks nutso, this is gonna be fun.

Nope, that is Yagawa's Arrange.

The system is pretty tough to grasp, especially with the uselessly long Japanese names for the scoring modes.

GP's strat thread is a good start, but hopefully there will be a lot of concrete discussion about the game after it comes out.

I hope that red bullet canceling arrange mode isn't on the level of the mushi futari arrange. Judging from the vid it seems its duration time is your ingot count, but doesn't go down that fast. Black label looks to take another aspect from futari arrange, with bullets close to you slowing down and stopping near your hitbox.

Regardless, even if it had just the original game would still warrant the purchase for me. Hoping it won't become a joke like futari arrange is though.

This. If there hasn't been anything announced yet, it is safe to assume there will not be an announcement. If you really want to play it, either get a J360 or support the hell out of Aksys localizing Deathsmiles. I will be doing the latter...though I may just decide to suck it up and get a J360 later on when I can afford it.

The achievement list for the game has just leaked. I haven't looked through it very thoroughly yet, but if anyone sees anything interesting, we can discuss. I sometimes wonder how these things get leaked out so early and from what source.

I have no idea what's going on in that arrange mode, but it looks almost as un-thrilling as Futari's.

I hope and pray that there comes a day where Cave sees Mars Matrix and says "We can do this."

The main game looks amazing though.

Couldn't agree more. CAVE's arrange modes for the ports never got even close to the original game. Here's hoping that at least Yagawa does a good job with his arrange mode.
But neverheless, the trailer looks at least interesting...

I don't know, I'd say the PS2 Espgaluda Arrange mode is up to if not better than any arcade BL sequel made to date. Its a shit ton more bullets, hard as hell, and best of all - NO CONTINUES. Only 1 person on shmups has ever cleared it! I wish they'd just release it on PCB.

Ok, got me there, Espgaluda's Arrange mode is really fantastic and imo even better than the main game.
DOJ's Death Label is also nice, too bad it's only a boss rush...

It is the best arrange mode ever -- hands down. DS 1.1 is fun as well. Infact, Futari's & the original Mushi's are the only two I don't like. Never tried Ibara. ESPGaluda II Black Label (which really is no more than an arrange mode renamed) is quite fun, and from what little I've played won't be a complete pushover.

Consideringthere's about 5 seconds of footage of Yagawa's mode, I'll not bother with any comments.

Ibara arrange is the only mode I can play on the PS2 release. Not because of game mechanics, but in aracde mode the rapidly-spinning bullets cause me a lot of eye strain. It gives me headaches just playing the game. Arrange changes the color and makes them more opaque, which fixes the problem.

I'm cautiously optomistic for espgaluda 2 arrange right now.

I agree completely.

I can't play arcade mode for Battle Garegga on the Saturn for the same reason but that has the option to make the bullets more visible. It may not be as hardcore to the purists but then i also suck at these games despite my love for them and need all the help i can get.

Actually I don't have a similar issue with Battle Garegga. Garegga bullets take some ajusting to, but they don't cause me physical pain to look at. There's just something in the effect of the transparent spinners in Ibara that totally messes with my visual senses (the straight bullets are fine). It's hard to describe because it's the only game I've ever played that has this effect on me.

Just assume it's locked and move on. We most likely would have heard something by now if it weren't.
