We certainly did, so thanks again.

I'm glad to here it's almost returned home safely.

I was in Casino on Thursday (Nice to speak to Mills a bit more and good to finally meet Kev. Me, CHI and Mills spoke a little about new games that could come in, and I did mention I've now got 1944: The Loop Master by Raising, which I'd be happy to loan. It's worth baring in mind that it's a 'Vertizontal', in that in scroll vertically but is orientated horizontally. That might effect where it might go.

Trying to get down tomorrow. I realise it's a weird day and not many people will be around.

Going to be giving this rave-based shmup and DFK a good seeing to. Maybe some SFA3/GGXXAC if someone around my level is playing.

I did drop a credit in ZED Blade, but never got further than that collapsing sphere of lies in stage 3. Not really sure what I'm doing but watching spadgy develop RSI turned me off scoring.

Might be down Friday.

I occasionally visit the casino but i never realised how much of a community it has behind it. Im in there normally after work (Portland Place, just a short walk) but wow. Its nice to know the arcade scene isn't dead... Just hidden next to the church of scientology :P

Just one thing, last time i was in there Pink Sweets: Ibara SoreKara wasn't on the big cabinet anymore, it made me a sad panda :(

edit number 2  : Would it be possible to get in contact with the owner or a regular or something, im doing a documentry for college about the arcade culture and i'd like some faces on there. I know a lot of questions for someone who's posted like twice :P sorry about that lads.

They had Pink Sweets?? Damn, I'd have wanted to try out that game at least once in my life.

Me and my friends tend to head over in the late evenings, near closing time even. Oh, by any chance, were any of you in on Monday playing DFK?

My wrist still bloody hurts from that infernal game!

Firstly, I won't be in this week as I'm in Monaco (fancy boy huh?) at a work conference thing. Next week I'm hoping to do a Friday, but it may well be Thursday. Monaco is a strange, slightly surreal place.

Hey Dizzm. Welcome. Do pop in sometime and join us for some credits! We use this little thread to organise meeting up there, usually on Thursday and Friday evenings.

On the subject of contacting the owner, it's a chap called Jon (who Casino old-schooler DEL here on the forum probably has the most contact with). However, I work as a games journalist and have twice tried to get Jon's permission to do something in there. He has never got back to me. Once was for a piece in The Telegraph (which we did anyway - it wasn't about the place. They just wanted to snap some people involved in the article in Casino, and the other was when a game PR company were offering quite a lot of money to host a press event for a beat 'em up, and they asked me to contact Jon. Of course, there is the point that Casino is a real community and one we like for being tucked away, and it certainly shouldn't be a play thing of the media and big corperations. Your documenary, of course, sounds quite different from that.

Yeah spadge, its just a small documentry for college. Its mainly for my portfolio but it's a reason for me to skip college and film/play in the arcade :P. Everybody was doing knife crime, drugs, teenage preganancy so i thought i'd actually go for something a little different. Something i actually do and care about. All i really want is a couple interviews and photos/videos of the place. I'll have to come to a few of the meets. You'll know who i am as i wear my name on my t-shirt (Dizzm, i use it when i DJ or go to meetups :P)

Just found out i finish work at 12, i'll probably be there till about 4 if anyones there that early (:

Sorry people - I've been away from the arcade and from Forum-land (A press trip to Monaco and one to Hamburg - very different places, and no time to hunt down arcades).

I'm definately going to be down next week - I might make it Friday (or maybe Thursday) when are people in town?

Yeah from Thursday the 25th, to the Sunday. :)

I've also been thinking of hosting a minimeet at my place sometime, if there would be any interest.

Last night was pretty good, got my arse handed to me by Raiden DX (gonna have to watch Spadgy for tips I think) then watched Taylor hit the second loop of DFK.

There were also three guys waiting to get on DFK who then started playing a bit of Zed Blade. I didn't say hello (sleep deprivation induced rudeness is my only guess) but If you are a poster here Hi!

The strangest thing though was the case of the disappearing Del!

When I arrived he was standing in the main foyer trying to phone Chi. Next minute he was gone! very strange.

Ah well hopefully I will get in next week too.

Sincere apologies Mr Monks!
I got involved in a masschin upstairs and by the time I'd dug myself out of a hole it was Chinatown time. I missed everyone; Inti, yourself, IZANAMI in full Gothloli Drag  , cristina in a most fetching number, Taylor and KOLA.
Sorry

Yeah, that would be me and my friends, haha. I was the one partly watching Taylor's DFK run and partly watching my friend on Zed Blade. I think we might be dropping by the arcade later.

Spiderift - how are you and your friends finding Zed Blade? Have you learned to play with the milking tricks, scoring by shooting the ground?

I hope you're liking it, and if you have any scores, good or bad, submit them on the Zed Blade high score board! A fair few of the Casino regulars are submitting scores there!

EDIT: Skykid's Zed Blade Strategy Guide is a great help, as is watching Videos of CHI playing. There on the high score thread somewhere as links.

I don't actually play Zed Blade (haven't really acquired a taste for it), but my friend does. He wasn't aware of those milking tricks though. Should show him that thread yeah. I think he wants to concentrate on trying to get to the 2nd loop of DFK though after finally managing to clear the 1st loop just earlier today. :P
