Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
The Gottlieb for Wii is a decent collection, but there's no doubt that it feels subpar after the Williams collection. Graphics, table goals, and high-score boards are all minimal compared to what you get with the Williams collection. Some of the tables are overly complicated, imo, but there are a few that make the collection worthwhile for me. I'm definitely keeping it for now.
Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
There's a new medieval themed table up for Pinball FX. It's actually pretty good. It's still PFX, however.
Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
I recently purchased a copy of Super Robot Pinball for GameBoyColor.
(published by Bandai, developed by Jupiter/Media Kite)
It is one of the best digi-pinballs I've played.
Super cool boss battles and cinema screens, along with spot-on controls.

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
Any chance of anyone wanting to compare hi-scores on Williams Collection?
I can't access the leaderboards here, and I would like to know how good I am playing

I ran a search on Nitro Ball, and I see it hasn't been mentioned in this thread, so ... Nitro Ball. It's not really a pinball game, but it's an awesome hybrid of pinball/top-down shooter. One of the best games of ALL TIME.

I know Rob has been playing through the table goals. I don't know if he has any scores to post, though. I'd like to get back to this soon, but things are too busy at the moment.Shatterhand wrote:Any chance of anyone wanting to compare hi-scores on Williams Collection?

Tilt was always on. Eventually I'll go back and get that final Wizard goal on Jive Time (5 extra balls) to finish them out.

I didn't know you were a deaf, dumb, blind kid. Lame jokes aside, I have known for a long time that you were awesome at games. Didn't you once say that you got 100% mastery throughout Maximo? I was happy just to beat that game.Damocles wrote:My personal scores: Gorgar - 2,125,310, Pinbot - 10,853,310, Black Knight - 8,351,350, Funhouse - 110,635,160, Space Shuttle - 42,537,570, Taxi - 19,334,970, Whirlwind - 326,812,810, Firepower - 4,683,350, Sorcerer - 18,588,420, Jive Time - 212,080 - Arabian Nights - 111,446,300, Medieval Madness - 380,826,980, Gofers - 510,651,570.

I thought it was you, but I just did a search and it was actually landshark (and MJR) that accomplished that goal. I don't know why I got confused on that.Damocles wrote:...wait...what? Methinks you're confusing me with someone else.

Newest Zen Pinball table d/l, Earth Defense for your perusua
New PS3 Zen Pinball table by the name of "Earth Defense" up for d/l today on the USA region PSN site. It's a mere $2.49 USD d/l file at 48MB altogether. Plus the Zen Pinball game will require a 15MB file update to version 1.04. Altogether, if you have gotten all six previous pinball tables and include this newest seventh pinball table of Earth Defense, it weighs in at a whopping 482MB!
This newest ED pinball table pays tribute to those retro 1950s sci-fi thriller films including a interactive robot that looks like it was from the updated remake of "Lost in Space" flick. If your ball goes down the drain when the 2nd chance "Continue Assigment" light is lit, the robot will shoot a purple colored ball that'll return to it's normal silver color on the playfield. Cool little touches make this particular pinball table a treat to take out for a spin.
It is possible to score up to 500,000 points or other randomly awarded bonus on each Skill Shot at the beginning of each ball. Hint: Aim for the robot's eye (as shown on the dot matrix screen display) and launch the ball to score your Skill Shot award whether it be points or some other bonus..
Since the scoreboards for ED aren't that high, now's the time to get some serious practice to score high enough to place well on it. The highest score for the ED table tops out at 33,000,000+ currently on the Zen Pinball scoreboard which isn't much.

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
I don't believe this has been mentioned before, but there are a few tables up on PSN for the PSP. They are available seperately or as a pack. I have yet to try them.
PSN also has remakes of the Amiga pinball series, and a PS1 rev.

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
Like others in this thread the Amiga Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies wasted a huge chunk of my youth.
The iPad ports of those two with original ball physics turned on are great.
Digital Illusions CE produced a whole ton of other pinball games (Pinball Dreams 2, Pinball Illusions, Pinball Mania, Pinball World) but I'm certain they're not as well reputed.
Sorry if I'm repeating stuff from this whopper of a thread...

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
Does anyone have an easy strategy for spelling 'HAREM' on Arabian Nights? It's one of the 'basic' goals on that table but I haven't managed to do it yet. It might be the only basic goal I have left on any of the tables.

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
That was the last basic goal I had to get. My strategy was just persistence. I just kept shooting at the left path no matter if it was tiger loop that was lit or whatever.
Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
Just keep at it. Basically, if anything is active it won't count. Look at the bright side: Once that is out of the way, the Wizard goals are piss-easy.
Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
I just got a good score in Sorcerer.
28,903,180 (4th on 360 leaderboard). And missed the wizard goal I was going for. Wtf. My only other good score is Taxi - 35,204,930 (19th).

Re: Digital Pinball Help and Recommendations
This is the hardest goal in the game (including wizards) because the orbit is glitched. After you get the first letter, the orbit completely disables in subsequent loops. That's why nobody gets the other letters when they should. There is a counter-glitch though accessing a sequence of table events that will reactivate the orbit to get the remaining letters, but nobody's narrowed down what that is. Like they said, persistence is the best way to spell those letters. If the left orbit breaks, hit a bunch of other table stuff and try the orbit again.Does anyone have an easy strategy for spelling 'HAREM' on Arabian Nights? It's one of the 'basic' goals on that table but I haven't managed to do it yet. It might be the only basic goal I have left on any of the tables.
But you don't actually have to do that shit. If you get the ball slowly to the top of the orbit, you can get the secret ball lock to complete the goal that way. I did this by holding the ball on the right flipper, then shooting it so the ball barely clips the right edge of the left orbit. If done right, the ball slows down just enough to climb to the top of the orbit and stop at the hidden ball lock. Repeating 3 times is very difficult, but easier to do that dealing with the HAREM spelling glitch.

Thanks guys. I don't feel bad for not being able to get in now...
Been playing it a fair bit today and did manage to light up 4 letters and got 2 sneak ins, but didn't quite get there. Did improve my best score to 142,137,940 though.

Wohoo. Two new high scores on Taxi (30,670,370) Jive Time (208,010). I was doing horribly on Jive Time until I realised that you can nudge the crap out of it before it tilts.

Turning this into a HOFW high score thread. Got 3,111,870 in Gorgar (5th on the 360 leaderboard).
I really only care about finishing the wizard goals in the newer games. Not sure how to activate Funhouse Frenzy even after looking over the annoying one line per page manual. :/
