Okay, here's the problem:
I was playing some Battle Bakraid on MAME, but it started going intermittent so I just connected it to a different port, it kept doing that; But then, it stopped working and before anyone asks, I tried it on the 360, it doesn't work as well. =C
I'm not sure what happened here. What do you all think could be the cause of the problem?
Thank you in advance.

Almost certainly a PCB problem - all the parts wouldn't break simultaneously.
Might want to contact Hori, or the supplier.

My friend told me it could be the PCB. But for some reason it randomly started working again. o.O Huh. Funny thing is I contacted Hori an hour ago. Wow. Well I'm gonna keep a close eye on it.

Check the disconnect near the end of the cable. It's silly...but possible that it has become slightly unseated.

Okay, just a bit of an update, I'm going to return the stick (I only had it since late December anyway).
But I figured out the source of the problem, it's the cable. It only works when the controller side of the cable is at a certain position, when it is at that certain position, it works fine. Weird... o.O

I had the same problem with some 3rd party Gamecube controller. For that I was just able to wrap the cord once around the controller to keep it working; perhaps a bit of tape is all you need, if you don't mind that sort of solution.

Re: Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE stopped working
A friend had this happen to his HRAP EX (not an EX-SE, but same PCB) and he solved it by soldering a new USB cable to the PCB.
I'm being really careful with all my USB cables. They're a lot more delicate than they look, apparently.

I got a new EX-SE yesterday (Man, Amazon, that was quick... XD). It's working great so far!
Where can you get new USB controller cables from? I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference.StarCreator wrote:A friend had this happen to his HRAP EX (not an EX-SE, but same PCB) and he solved it by soldering a new USB cable to the PCB.

You can just cut up any typical cable to get at the wires inside. (Monoprice is a great place to get cables if you need 'em.) You lose the breakaway bit if you don't use a cable from a 360 controller, though speaking as someone who has lost more than his fair share of breakaway dongles, it's not a huge loss.nintenthe3rd wrote:Where can you get new USB controller cables from? Of course, you'd need to be able to desolder the original cable and solder the new one in its place, and you'd probably need a continuity tester to make sure you get all the contacts in the right places if for some reason the two cables aren't color coded the same way.
