Dance Pad Question
Dance Pad Question
Has anybody ever used those dance pads by Red Octane? I am interested in getting a metal dance pad, due to its arcade feel and more sturdy design. The one from Red Octane is fairly cheap, so it makes me wonder about is quality. Any ideas?

I've got a pair of RedOctane soft pads, and while I don't have a great deal of expertise in dance pad quality I'm pretty well satisfied with them; I haven't tried their hard pads, but I'd imagine they're pretty good quality too. If you get a soft pad, though, you might also want to get a cover for a few extra bucks, to make it last longer.
Red Octane came out with a metal pad before the Afterburner, and that was pretty widely regarded as a horrible pad. I haven't heard anything about the Afterburner, though.
The Cobalt Flux (no connection to me) pads are pretty much seen as the THE pad to use. Everyone says they're the absolute best in terms of workmanship and reliability. They'll run you more, though.
EDIT: I justed bemanistyle for RO Afterburner reviews, and I saw a few people say it's pretty good and replicates the arcade feeling really well.
