Hope he can deliver the game then... and hope it'll be for preorder because getting it during the event will be almost impossible.

Been playing a bit more and I love the sheer brutality of some moments where you are struggling to get the break bar up before the big enemies storm in and you chain them all with the lock-on.

When in break mode, is it better for scoring to use regular shot or the lock-on to kill enemies? The counter goes up by using regular shot on lots of small enemies, but I haven't noticed what really happens when you use lock-on in Break mode, aside from it being much more powerful.

that's weird, even my nvidia fx 5500 (which is older) runs it at 60fps without slowdowns

anyway, great, GREAT game, can't wait for full version

It was my drivers. Updating to the latest solved it.

Hope the guy is getting enough feedback to solve most issues. Menus need to be faster, it needs a 'retry' option and, hopefully, a replay function. Maybe the 'decide' button could also fast forward the launch sequence. While neat, it's a whole 30 seconds between the beginning and the first enemy wave.

Hope the guy will imitate Marsbound with Cloudphobia and offer to purchase an online version for a cheaper price.

In the meantime, Stella Vanity has a new version up but it got totally overshadowed by this monster.

It seems that only stage 1 is playable on unlimited mode.
Got TRIAL ALL after first stage.

Good stuff all around!

What fuels that bomb/break mode meter though? Just shooting stuff down/getting Break?

Shooting or lock shot both build it up yeah. I'm like 90% sure that point blanking with shot also causes it to build up much faster than normal.

Wow, all this raving makes me think I'd be perfectly safe buying it without even demo-ing it :D Maybe by the time the full version is readily avail. I'll be in position to finally throw a PC in my namco cab. Sorry for the OT question, but is all you'd need to run this game on a low res monitor something like PowerStrip? If there's already a nice thread about running PC shmups in your arcade cab, feel free to point me that way :D

If you want to do that, consider trying Laseroid too as it has TATE mode and a three player option.

mmm, I'm sure there was information on how to make a custom cab that held Imperishable Night.

http://www.system11.org/temp/touhoucab/index.html

(gotta keep thanking bloodflowers for his nice review of the game)

Back to Crimzon Clover, yes, I noticed that frantically shooting at point blank distance while shitting guided laser missiles to anything left and right increases the bar way faster than shooting from the afar.

I'm really looking forward to see Yotsubane's reaction to the release of the trial.

I like how the hypers destroy stuff in DOJ but when you turn on BREAK MODE (always in caps), you know that a small-scale Armageddon is about to occur.

Wowowow, I can't wait to see the last stages. Almost as beautiful as Galuda 2, I don't understand much of how the scoring system works.
I hope score is improvable as hell

Just tried Unlimited mode. Almost destroyed the boss. It's godly. I wonder if he'll keep the difficulty this way or things will be toned down a bit.

Also, Yotsubane surely pulls off a Siter Skain with the end of the trial... I only needed to see a huge screen-filling laser and that Macross-like robot and it would be full house.

According to HUU from the french shmup board, this game is created by Clover-TAC and clover is the abbreviation of cave lover.

I can't imagine that being true (as much as I'd really like to believe it). Do you have any source/proof on this?

He has a japanese friend who works in this doujin industry, so this could be the source if he knows him in person. I didn't believe it too at first, but it's possible.

Thanks for the reminder, this game went off my radar for the past while. Video looks good, I'll probably attempt to buy it when the full version is released. Too busy with other things for now and the near future. I haven't even played S&P2 nor Futari at all since my copies delivered...

Get some real sources, quit with the friend-of-a-friend (combined with a language barrier!) thing.

I know my friend since many years now , we are close friend ... there is no language barrier and he is himself a doujin programmer...
I heard about the game back in 2009, my friend went to the comic market to see other doujin programmer and he talked with the creator of crimzon clover, he told me it was TAC ...
So believe me or not, I don't care ...
Still you can write an email to yotsubane and ask.

I gave this a few tries tonight, and it really is living up to the excitement in this thread. By far one of the better dojin games of the last year or two. Going to have to experiment with the scoring more, and many thanks to those who've given some hints and explanations here. Definitely a must buy.
