It's very simple: play it via RGB, Component, or S-video (480i) on a 15khz CRT and it looks fine. Play it in progressive scan, like VGA (480p+) or HDMI, and it looks like ass. Same deal with Deathsmiles Arcade mode.

And you can disable the "smoothing" filter in the options menu, BTW. So there's no reason to complain about that.

I'm used to arcade perfect resolution, and I'm saying that anyone who says the 360 version looks like ass (via RGB scart on a CRT) is exagerating. To reiterate: that's coming from someone used to playing it in arcade-perfect resolution, not someone used to playing MAME in VGA.

see again....comes down to taste...interlacing at 15khz=vomit inducing to me

if you guys are cool with that, great....

thats the great thing about opinions....everybody has one....but thankfully the only opinion that really matters in the end is your own

The trouble is, to say it looks like ass is to put it in the same category as the PS2 Mushi and Ibara ports (which really do look like ass without the deinterlace patch). This rendition of DOJ doesn't look anywhere near as bad as those.

Yeah, some people really can't handle interlacing. I can understand that. I don't like it much myself, but I've gotten used to it because it's easier on my wallet.

I play it in my EGRET II with an Ultracade Video Converter and while it is a bit blurry, it looks really good. I guess the UVC taking it down to 240p fixes many of the issues.

I got mine on eBay for $150+shipping. HAPP-price: $250.

No cables come with it, but ATX connectors worked for me (power, video out->JAMMA). Best of all, you can use ANY VGA source with it, so no more fiddling with custom video modes for me.

Back on topic, I really hope that patch surfaces soon, I power on my 360 each morning hoping that "this is the day".

True, this certainly doesn't look as bad as Mushi, even with that patched to 240p. The background filtering in that game is just unforgivable, but I feel like this looks even worse than the arcade modes in Mushi Futari and Deathsmiles.

And you can forget about interlacing. If I'm sitting right in front of the monitor, that flickering is way too annoying. I can handle it for movies and such when I'm sitting across the room, but I stay away from interlacing on my cabs.

I'm using a 360 VGA adapter at 480p and it looks quite filtered:

You're right, that does look awful, but it's no wonder given that you're using your 360 over VGA.

Not really. It's entirely likely that Ketsui will only have the same screen options as DOJ, which makes this particular avenue of discussion highly pertinent. Besides, this is the thread for 360 DOJ discussion, which is exactly what people are talking about.

Japjac made a Ketsui thread when this thread was already fine, so I switched the roles of emphatic's comment. I offered to make the Futari thread post-release because it wasn't very clean. No begging involved.

No drama, please. I might be a drama magnet but I don't like it. Asking to talk about the game isn't a big request.

I think Mihara's saying there can't be release date yet because he and Cave haven't given the green light approval yet. Hm, but then I thought he said before that he doesn't want to have anything with porting of Ketsui. :?:

Also from elsewhere (Famitsu360), Ketsui/DDPDOJBLEX arrange OST will be included with Ketsui Lmtd Ed.
