I have a quick question, been playing DOJ-X lately and I was wondering why I'm not auto-bombing all the time in X-mode. I'm using type B-laser if that makes any difference. I'm guessing this is a bug, but maybe there is something weird I'm not understanding...

Leinyan (laser-type) only auto-bombs once per life IIRC. isnt it in the Game Options EX menu? and it unlocks over time, i think. i believe its unlocked on mine, ive played for no more than 6 hours, ive unlocked X-mode too.Elixir wrote:How does No Bullet mode unlock, again?

No Bullet unlocks an hour or two before X mode does. Once No Bullet is unlocked, getting the rest of the unlocks via time release is very trivial - though if you're using rapid fire in conjunction, you'll mess up your high score tables something fierce.
The patch, last I heard, is undergoing certification, but some problems popped up in conjunction with the method used to fix the loading times. In any case, it'll pop up whenever MS certifies it. This info came from Mihara's blog (translated via a post on Cave-STG).

Okay so how do I make it so this game saves my data?
I'm *pretty* sure I enabled autosave, and then when I started the game up again my scores were gone.
Also how do I get rid of the pause upon game start? The hell is the point of that?

Whoa, just got this. The game looks pretty awful on a CRT even with smoothing off and overscan at 100%. It's nice being able to get two hypers before I even get to the first boss with my meager skills though

This should mean that the port itself is "complete" then, and settings etc that should be less complicated without further unforeseen issues is all that remains? It'd be pretty ballsy of them otherwise to actually set the date, considering their track record.

It really doesn't (well, not via RGB scart at least). I can only assume you lot having problems with the image quality are using HDMI/component/VGA/composite/S-Video.

if you are used to playing stuff in mame all scaled up and filtered this might look ok....but if you are used to true lo-res picture quality, this looks like ass....regardless of connector type....the smoothing filters are still there...this is a deal breaker to some....
the first time i saw this game running it almost made me cry it looked so bad....running on an XM-29....very sad indeed

I'm comparing it to the PS2 version via RGB scart (which for all intents and purposes looks identical to the PCB). To say it looks like ass compared to that is just an exageration.
