Yes - it's an iPhone game, but stay with me! It's a very rare case of a slick, fast, simple high score-based twitch game with really nice precise controls.

Cub Runner’s not a shmup, but it shares some things in common - primarily its about dodging things while controlling a little auto-scrolling shmup. In fact, that's all there is to it. You steer left and right through and increasingly dense, randomly generated field of blocks. You get a single life - crash and it's game over. You get a single point about every half-second, so in short, survival equals points.

This is important if you do play it: Play it on hard mode! Medium is a little slow - hard mode is exciting! strangley setting it to hard mode involves 'changing the level pack'. You'll see what I mean when you get it. Also, in hard mode there's a surprise at 140 points!

Also, before you play set it to play in hori mode, not vert. It doesn’t ‘tate automatically, and its a lot more fun if you do set it horizontally.

It's lo-fi, and in a day or two you'll be done with it, but as you start to push your high score it's bloody exciting. If you like shmups you've got a good chance of liking this a lot while it lasts.
