Irrelevant console-war flamebait from Bayonetta thread

Vincent Draconis wrote:While I've heard many good things about Bayonetta and had plenty of fun with the demo, I don't see myself buying this for my PS3 anytime soon (maybe not at all). To have a seventh-gen game able to run at 60FPS with high-quality graphics on one console, be downgraded for another console with a jumpy frame rate, graphics that are actually worse, including lengthy loading times on top of that, while expecting me to drop $60 for the latter version is honestly insulting to me.

I'm not trying to change the opinions of anyone that have already bought the PS3 version. That's your business. But while this is just a video game I'm talking about, I'm still a consumer, and I'm still looking to get my money's worth at every opportunity. Straight up, I'm not paying full price for a version of a game that's inferior to this extent — in terms of visuals and/or otherwise — in this console generation, no matter how entertaining it is.

Some thoughs of Pros and Cons between games depending on the console and comparisons:

PS3:

The audio on a 5.1 setup is of Blu-Ray quality, the audio source is PCM 48 Khz, so depending on your receiver you may or may not be able to have it output in Dolby Digital mode.

The games can only be ran at 720p.

Old (first generation) PS3s can ran any PS2 games as long as they are the same region as the console, Newer PS3's can't run all the PS2 games.

The capacity of the PS3 is lesser than the capacity of the Xbox 360, already you can only play games at 720p, but also the PS3 can't handle games the way the Xbox 360 can, so there is much more motion blur being used in games and the background decor is blurred to lower the lag and screentearing issues.

All PS3 games are region free.

You can only instal some games (Genji: Days of the Blade, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, Folklore etc).

Xbox 360:

The audio on a 5.1 setup is of DVD quality and is rough around the edges, especially on heavily explosive action games like Darksiders, Alone in The Dark, Timeshift and such.

Runs games at 1080p.

Very small amount of Xbox games can be played on the Xbox 360.

No added blur during the games, has some very minor screen tearing issues (I noticed it in Darsksiders when I was turning the camera around).

Region locking depending on the games.

You can install any games on the Hard Drive.

All in all PS3 wins when it comes to the audio and Xbox 360 wins when it comes to graphics and performance.
