New Zealand Story Bootleg Plea

Post by Womble »

Anyone got a "New Zealand Story" bootleg that looks like this??

I have a couple of questions about the one I have on my work bench, things that might be normal, might not.

I have an original New Zealand Story but perhaps I can help. What is the issue(s) with your bootleg?

My question was whether the flip screen dipswitch should work on these bootlegs, the PCB wires shut the dip and when the track is cut the dip actually wrecks the graphics.

Finally tracked down someone who knows these boards and apparently the bootleggers either mucked up the screen flip option, or the board were designed without a flip option. So the fact the screen is inverted is not a fault with these boards, and until someone designs a mod for the board, or re-writes the roms to read the raster memory in reverse the board will alway display upside down.
