Backloggery.com... I need friends!

Post by Aquas »

Backloggery.com allows you to keep track of all the games in your backlog, which ones you're playing, what you rate them etc in tidy lists. Can also check in with your friends and see what they're doin' game-wise.

Yeah, about that friends thing. I need some to add to my list so I can feel like using this thing isn't as boring. I know a lot of you here use the site so let's see some usernames :)

I'm at http://backloggery.com/aquas

Cheers, my gaming friends.

It's a site where you post games you own, and whether you beat them, conquered them, or just plain mastered them. I use the site, but I hardly update due to the fact that if I included every game I own, I'd be there all day adding games.

Thankfully, in my case, I don't own an overwhelming amount of games. Starting out can be a bit tedious, adding each individual game, but if it's your fancy to keep the relavant information then it's a decent site. It's just another thing to check up on if you're bored : ) or to remind yourself of what you're at, game wise.

For me, I add the games I own, plus some games I've spent a significant amount of time on.

Looks pretty neat, probably just do a few that are recent as an entire lifetime of backlogging videogames will be another hobby in and of itself

This site lets you choose whether games are just beaten or all the way completed, but then when you consider the points brought up in this thread, makes you wonder (as far as shmups are concerned) how most people on that site consider theirs completed. Credit feeding all the way through to see the ending would count as 'beaten' to most.

That is the beauty of the site. I don't think it was ever really meant as a bragging sort of thing. The site is just a way for you to keep track of your personal backlog. The whole friends system seems to be there so others can provide motivation.

Are there any other sites like this? It seems a bit clunky to me. I'd love to have something like last.fm, only for games. Still, I like the OCD aspect.

Raptr.com is similar but it is even harder to add games unless they are PC or Xbox360. Raptr seems like a decent idea but it lacks focus. It tries to do 100 different things, but none of them very well. If you are just trying to get your collection organized and keep track of your backlog I would probably stick with backloggery.

I've got a Backloggery account.

I've beat hundreds of games I never would have otherwise bothered with because of Backloggery. Some of them were even good.

Bad games for a bad dude. 8)

Actually, I've never sold a game. So when I end up with shit like Taz-Mania or That's So Raven 2, it just stays with me forever.

Backloggery.com isn't accepting any more new members  Is there any similar site that lets you keep track of your gaming?

cheapassgamer has a built-in service kinda like that. you can put stuff up for sale/trade, write reviews/rate games, network with other peeps, etc. I found a guy there who imported (exported?) Espgaluda II for me. Note: my list isn't exhaustive.

backloggery looks pretty cool with all sorts of stat-tracky stuff, but I think I prefer CAG.
