The 32-bit version of Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius would be my favorite in the series. I think that only it and the SNES versions of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th games allow instant respawns instead of checkpoints. I usually don't mind struggling back from checkpoints, but I like the Parodius games to be friendlier, if not necessarily easier. (I'd still rather play the arcade version of Gokujo, though, since some of the weapon setups were gimped on the SNES). 32-bit Oshaberi has an obvious advantage over the SNES games when it comes to presentation, and I like the Konami homages and how it gives different power meter layouts to the alternate versions of the characters, so Vic Viper has the weapons from Gradius and Lord British has the ones from Salamander.
Anyway, Mr. Heli's a fun game I haven't seen mentioned.
