The XRGB *IS* a component to VGA converter.

Or do I misunderstand your question ? For connecting the PS2 to the XRGB you can either use a RGB or a component cable.

Really? I was looking at the back of it, and it didn't seem to have the red/blue/green inputs. Just had the yellow/red/white ones.

I'm looking at the XRGB3, on your site.

EDIT: "Included with your XRGB-3 you'll find a short (10cm) adapter cable from 3 RCA jackets to one D-Terminal connector. You can use this input to connect to connect a GameCube, a Wii or a PS2 machine."

I think this is what I was missing.

Right, D-Terminal (on which you have 3 in number on the XRGB-3) is just a different connector, the signal is component. You can also buy D-Terminal cables directly, e.g. for the PS2. This way you don't need the adapter cable.

x2vga is a good one

also, lots of older extron video buffers can convert SOG VGA to VGA, and hence let you run a PS2 on a VGA monitor (in progressive scan mode)

X2VGA has been out of stock for quite some time now, it appears the company is no longer making it anymore.

I bought one of these -

It works really really well and its quite cheap.

The XRGB is quite expensive and has many options. The HDpro only uses component as its input, but its very very good.

Word of warning though, I noticed when running a PS2 in my cab it didn't work because the default resolution is 1024x768, so I had to put the unit on my TV, set it to 640x480 and then it worked. If your using it on a HDTV or a VGA monitor its best to select the output resolution that perfectly matches your TV/monitor native resolution. Once you set it up the first time, thats it..

You can plug PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 Gamecube and Wii into this puppy. I think it has throughput as well, which means you can thread your Dreamcast through it when its not in use.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
