XRGB2+ or XRGB3?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I can't seem to find an answer here. I want no lag and picture improvement for my VGA connections.

I read that the 2+ has no lag in game mode(how's the picture look in this mode?).

I read that 3 has lag, but I also read that it continually gets updates. Have they fixed this problem?

The 2plus has only one mode and yes, it's basically lag free.

The XRGB-3 has lag in full processing mode (including scaling). There's a linedoubling mode which is practically lagfree. And this won't change, as lag is not a bug, it's a neccessary evil when you want proper deinterlacing.

Well, is there any advantage to having a 2+ over a 3 then? Does "linedoubling mode" look as good as "game mode" in the 2+? Lag about the same?

Last questions, I swear.

I think the 2+ is a superb tradeoff between image quality and latency. I've not used a 3 however... but I had like 4 Micomsoft products, so if the 2+ hadn't satisfied me then I would have used that as an excuse to buy more!

They are pretty much the same. The Linedoubling mode on the 3 just adds the possiblility to feed 480p content as well. Also - depending on the display you want to use - you might run into problems with a bit unstable picture, while the 3 is adjustable to don't have to worry about the display...

I found one on Ebay, but it was like over 450 dollars. Any good reliable places to order one of these things?

Hmm...it says for newer systems(i'm guessing PS3 and 360), I should get a DVDO.

Anyone have any experience with that item?

God this is getting complicated.
