My friend. Leave the start button alone when you've game overed and watch the magic ensue.

What are you talking about? Have you tried not pressing start after dying?
The only game I know that forces you to continue is DUX

Play Score Attack and you'll only get one credit.

Nah, Lawlfer has a good point.

Ever play arcade Ninja Gaiden? If you watch the game over screen and don't continue, you are a heartless bastard who deserves the same fate as Ryu. I don't care if you have to give your bank ATM card to a total stranger to fetch you more money while you keep playing. DOO EET!

Eh, nevermind. I guess it's not as funny if you haven't seen the Ninja Gaiden arcade game over screen.

LMAO because I really was playing arcade Ninja Gaiden (bought the Wii VC release) just last week before work. I died, and even though I really needed to get my ass in gear and go to work, I COULDN'T HELP IT and I continued just so Ryu wouldn't get the saw blade with all those demons watching. But then I lost all my lives again and decided I like having a job, so I let him die. I couldn't shut the system off, I had to watch the timer tick down until zero.

But yeah, good call. Winners Don't Use Drugs. And they don't let good ninjas get sawed in half.

Hey do you guys know if you can still get the 1CC achievment if you click restart stage? Ive done it with 2 of the chars, but Im more concerned about 1CC lvl999 in MBL. Theres no way in hell I can see the true form of the last boss :( unless I can restart a level over and over again I think.

Wow thats brutal. I can do all the achievements except for this. I know my limitations and theres just no way I could beat those 2 ex levels without dying. Its those damn revenge bullets that drive me nutts.

Ah well. Have any of you managed to do this achievement?

I think only a handful of Japanese have done it [legitimately]. I wouldn't bother with it.

Is the MBL worth downloading? I'm getting this game soon but I forgot to order a Jap points card with it, so I'd have to go out of my way to do it. Does it significantly add to the game? I absolutely adore Futari's BL DL, but I've heard some people say that this one isn't as substantial. Also, is there a guide that would hold my hand through menus and stuff? I can;t read japanese so I think it'd be hard for me to figure out what I was doing otherwise.

ED: Also from what I heard there's a mode that lets you directly control your familiar with the right stick? Is that accurate? If so :\ because then I cant use my arcade stick...

I talked about this 1 page back, so I'll just paraphrase here: MBL has one additional playable character (Sakura). It has one additional playable stage next to the regular "extra" stage. There are also some gameplay tweaks that you will probably notice if you've played the game a lot.
Special World wrote:ED: Also from what I heard there's a mode that lets you directly control your familiar with the right stick? Is that accurate? If so :\ because then I cant use my arcade stick...
In 1.1 mode you can control your familiar by holding down a button. Check the key config for 1.1 mode to find it. While holding that button the familiar will cover whichever direction you move your character. Give it a try with your stick. I would agree that 1.1 seems to be designed more for the regular 360 controller, due to how the default settings put left/right fire on the triggers.

Please don't ask if the game has unlimited continues. :P

Well does the extra level and gameplay tweaks actually significantly add to the overall enjoyment of the game? A lot of people (not me) would say that Futari Black Label is less of an upgrade than having an extra level and character is, but if DS MBL has really great tweaks other than the last level and character which I assume are ever so slightly lackluster, then that's pretty cool.

And sir, you offend me with your continues comment. Am I so base? Have at thee.

MBL changes scoring, some like that some do not. It adds an awesome character, for sure. It adds a cool level.

Honestly I don't think that a decision to buy... or not to buy.. a 1200 DLC is worth the discussion. Now, if this were hand wringing on which PCB to buy.. ok.

But I guess we debate more silly things...

It's not that I'm hand wringing over the price, I just hate the pain in the ass of ordering it and finding out how to get the download.

There's nothing difficult about it, and you are going to want some Japanese DLC at some point. Look over at the Japanese 360 hardware thread.

The barrier has been broken down, but the demons of reviews have yet to be conquered. We need to get people interested in this game, as the reviewers will just complain about how short it is and how hard it is.
