old video game commercials
I've been pulling my hair out trying to find a copy of the Super C commercial. None of the "retro commercial" sites I've found seem to have it. Any pointers?

Well, please let us know about any other sites with video game commercials that you come accross, and good luck!extrarice wrote:Good site, bookmarked. No Super C, though. My quest continues...

That site is fantastic, although, IMO, they're devoting way too much space for current-gen games, which you can download footage of, and trailers for, from plenty of sites like IGN, www.gametrailers.com , etc, etc.
Although they certainly have some gems-I was elated to find the first NES Legend of Zelda ad on there, which I remembered seeing on TV, back in 1987!

I just wish I could get a recording or mp3 of the song they used for that Tetris commercial with the animated talking russian bears and their kids.
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

How do you download the commercials from that site? I right click, but it only saves the ads as .asp files.extrarice wrote:There's this one that has a lot of the wackier Japanese commercials.dave4shmups wrote:Well, please let us know about any other sites with video game commercials that you come accross, and good luck!![]()

Battle Tanx's commercial with the teddy bear is hilarious.

Even the ol' GCE tv commericals of touting the Vectrex was cool for it's time...all using real-time video camera footage with some fast-paced shots for maximum effect. All this retro Vectrex advertising hails from 1983-1984.

The commercial for NES classic Crystalis is pretty awesome:

And of course by awesome I mean completely terrible. Ah well, still one of the best games ever imo.

Hah! I remember those! They remind me of some of the commercials for the Game Gear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cieXjddm ... re=related , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP04XzC-GkAEinhanderZwei wrote:Not the best (obviously), but most memorable is...

Remember when companies like Sega and Nintendo used to make fun of each other via commercials? It was so much nicer, and funnier, then reading fanboy rants on gaming forums.

Re: old video game commercials
Video game ads are usually hilarious, but what about the video game ad campaigns? Back in the old days in Russia and Ukraine we had Dendy - the Famiclone that brought the console gaming to these two countries that Nintendo wasn't giving a hell about. Believe it or not, this totally unlicensed hardware clone had its commercials, a gaming magazine and even a series of TV shows! Their host, Sergei Suponev, was a legend among first Russian/Ukrainian console gamers. In the end, 95% of Russian-speaking world's population do not know what is NES, but Dendy - that's what will never be forgotten. How 'bout that, Atari?
