The game can be extremely hard without the free-range and general easy with it, pointing out the unbalanced nature of the game. There is no middle. Now just think.....it's not just TFV but WHAT IF you had the Free-Range in say like Gradius V? Or in an R-type....the weapon itself is unbalanced..but hey, for all the years we've been playing shooters and cussed and swore it was cheating and the "what the's" and "What hit me", or " I dodged that bullshit" or swarms of bullets that god himself couldn't avoid...isn't it nice to finally "Stick it to those bastards for once!" 8) :D Oh well maybe I'm vendictful.

Yeah, Thunderforce 5 is a really nice game. Except I found out that if you wanted to play for score, you had to use the free range most of the time. Even if you don't plan on using the free range, the weapon mocks you for having it in your inventory. Plus it looks really, really boring killing stuff so quickly anyway.

Oh, yeah, there was also another gripe I wanted to add about the game as well, and it deals with the CRAW units. Although they served as a barrier to ward off the yellow bullets, they were very unreliable because doing a barrel roll or using your over-weapon would screw up their orientation, and you don't want them to absorb a bullet when they do turn red.

I'm also one of the TFV players who choose not to abuse the powers of the free range... much.

Another thing- I've looked at another person's copy of WD's TFV, and immediately noticed that the art printed on the CD was completely different from my copy (mine was taken from the FMV scene right after you destroyed Rynex, and the other one had the Gauntlet demonstrating the twin shot over-weapon).
