same here. congrats! i'm working on the palm 1cc now and haven't been able to pull it off. it's been said a hundred times already, but stage 3 is just nasty after the midboss.bloodflowers wrote:Futari is now my first Cave 1CC in a very long timeI used normal Reco, on BL Original.

I don't think stage 3 is that hard. I've been able to consistently no miss stages 1-3 after some serious practice but...
I'm finding stage 4 always gives me trouble, no matter what I always lose a life there. I have the first half of stage 5 down, but after the midboss it almost always goes to shit for me. I'm reaching the boss (what's it's name?) on my last life with little to no bombs left.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
it's the exact opposite for me. i just breeze through stage 4 on most runs, with the exception of the boss (that's a 2-bomber for me). 5 is a mess too. assloads of stuff pouring out from every crack and crevice. it'll take a long time to find a comfortable route through that mess.apple arcade wrote:I don't think stage 3 is that hard. and the final boss' name is Larsa, i believe. on my 1cc run i had 1 life and 1 bomb left when i got to her. it was a tough battle.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
I am incredibly pleased to say that after spending some time with this I now understand how to herd aimed bullets. I've always seen bullet sprays in games like this as a formidable mess, but after spending time learning to slowly tap along the screen letting bullets just pass me by I have found that I can concentrate on the larger enemy patterns and my survival has improved a huge amount.
I'm currently having a few issues with stage 3 but I have found that Reco Normal can take large enemies out from a distance with her hold shot and I'm getting better after changing to her from Palm.
I'm currently undecided as to which version is better. I actually enjoy the more rapid switching chain mechanic of Original 1.5 compared to the 3000 counter change in Black Label. I do prefer the more powerful shot and the greater slowdown of BL though.

Besides that and the added bombs (as EOJ mentioned), they also fixed that stage 4 boss bug that made the last pattern impossible.GaijinPunch wrote:From what I remember (and this was based only off of what NTSC-J told me) the only differences in 1.0 and 1.01 are a pattern (or two?) on the Stage 2 boss in Original mode. finally the game is here, and 1.01 card too!
gave a quick try at 1.5 maniac, no miss till stage 3, maybe it's the happiness of playing it
thank you Cave for bringing us this gem, i really hope more for more region-free games

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
I think that they are both excellent in their own way and I wouldn't worry too much about getting BL straight away if you are having fun with 1.5. The thing that makes BL a bit easier for me is the increased slowdown from stage 3 onwards (at least as far as I can tell) as you have much more time to tap through some of the nastier bullet sprays.
I can't really comment on Maniac or Ultra/God as I haven't spent any time with them at all yet. Too much fun in the other modes.
Anyone taken to Arrange? I really like what I've played so far. Survival is obviously far easier letting you concentrate on score, and I'm assuming that skills will pass from mode to mode with scores just shooting through the roof. Spending time leasrning the bullet patterns in 1.5 certainly helps you set up good spots for arrange runs too so you can transfer skills quite well.

Thank you so much for your post; I'm going to go link it in the ST.
I gotta admit that my will to edit new information into that modes post hit rock bottom after it was added to the OP (haven't turned on the 360 in two weeks, either) So I think I'm done. Have fun you guys, and thanks Elixir for accepting my contribution.

question at the few people who never had a freeze at black label what's the size of the hdd you use?
i upgraded from a 20 to 60 gb hdd today and never had a freeze again.
with my 20 gb hdd i had 1 freeze every run at BL and now with the new one no freeze for 2 hours.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
I'm on a 20 GB and the freeze is ALWAYS at the part in the first level... IIRC it's the beginning of the level where a powerup bug comes out near one of those vertical obelisks.
That should be right, though my mind keeps telling me that no powerup bug exists there.
And I'm fine with that freeze, because its so small and always in the same spot.

Nice to hear about the stage 4 boss bug getting fixed, but I see no difference in Original's Stage 2 boss patterns. I have vids of both 1.01 and 1.0 Original and watched them back to back. Saw no difference in the Stage 2 boss patterns, but maybe I missed something. Care to explain?NTSC-J wrote:Besides that and the added bombs (as EOJ mentioned), they also fixed that stage 4 boss bug that made the last pattern impossible.GaijinPunch wrote:From what I remember (and this was based only off of what NTSC-J told me) the only differences in 1.0 and 1.01 are a pattern (or two?) on the Stage 2 boss in Original mode. usually play on an Asian 360, 20gb, via rgb scart, not seen the freezing at all, tried it once on the pal 360, 120gb, via vga, and had it freezeCRI wrote:question at the few people who never had a freeze at black label what's the size of the hdd you use?

When I first played 1.01 at the '06 Cave Matsuri, I mentioned to GP that I saw a difference in that pattern with the white spears. In 1.0 they seemed to "shed" more pink bullets, but I'm probably mistaken.EOJ wrote:Nice to hear about the stage 4 boss bug getting fixed, but I see no difference in Original's Stage 2 boss patterns. I have got 950/1000 achievement . I think it is possible for everyone to get them except the most difficult secret one which needs to Defeat Spiritual Larsa in Ultra mode.

Well, I won't repeat everything else everyone else says. Lets just say I agree. I love this game... hard as I heard it would be but its fun. ULTRA owned me! Novice Ultra too easy.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Perhaps when running in VGA, the game buffers the graphics somehow on the HDD, and if it runs out of storage you'll see the freeze? In RGB the resolution (being smaller) doesn't need to be buffered?msm wrote:usually play on an Asian 360, 20gb, via rgb scart, not seen the freezing at all, tried it once on the pal 360, 120gb, via vga, and had it freezeCRI wrote:question at the few people who never had a freeze at black label what's the size of the hdd you use?

i got stutters of about 0.2 seconds on BL, using a PAL 360, 20GB HHD with rgb scart
but they are rare, and never happens in the same places

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
I downloaded BL over a week ago and haven't had any stutters/graphical glitches. I'm also using a 20GB HDD on a PAL console with RGB scart in 4:3. My save files are on the internal memory - not the external hard drive - so maybe this helps.
As to the overall game, I think I'd got too used to Deathsmiles in that Futari is kicking my ass. I keep screwing up in the same damn places and I'm getting frustrated with my own ability. I think I'm trying to score too early rather than playing for survival. I don't know about other players but once I get that 1CC it changes my attitude to the game and my playing becomes more confident. Anyhow, it's a great game and alone is worth picking up a 360 for.

At least that's what I did. I will say that I don't try to score as much on S3 or S5 as I could. I need to play this again, I've been playing Donpachi and DDP the last couple weeks.
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
I don't really count the Novice modes - Novice Ultra was an easy clear. It's just my incompetence and lack of patience. I think it's better to play above your ability so you "step up" to the challenge so to speak - I'm just not improving as much/as fast as I'd have liked. I'm relying heavily on shot to trigger more slowdown, particularly on the bosses... Still, it's all good and a real bonus to be able to play this game at all
.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Oh definitely, extremely happy that i get to play this, and to top it off, I'm finding it as essentially my game of the generation right alongside Demon's Souls. Easily the best 360 title i own.durango76 wrote:I don't really count the Novice modes - Novice Ultra was an easy clear. It's just my incompetence and lack of patience. Stopped playing it a bit though, got frustrated with my declining performance, as i just kept playing worse and worse with each attempt. My little break didn't last long though

I far prefer Original 1.5 to Original BL. I just feel the fast turnover from green to blue and back in 1.5 provides a more exciting, satisfying game.moonshine wrote:Hmm. I'm a bit out the loop with this thread as a boring press embargo has stopped me taking my 360 online for a while (and I can't bear to get a score on Futari that beats my best but doesn't count online). I can't wait to get back to it!
Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
why that? have you played a yet unannounced game with your gamertag?spadgy wrote:I'm a bit out the loop with this thread as a boring press embargo has stopped me taking my 360 online for a while
other than that i couldn't think of any sane reason why you shouldn't be allowed to go online.
