I'm in SPACE!

Post by JBC »

Heh heh... ok so i'm not really in space. My wife took this picture of me in the bathtub and i found that i could make the water droplets look like stars. Neat!

This is my shmup-death photo! After destroying the Bacterion homeworld my ship was ripped to shreds and now my lifeless body peacefully floats through space as the credits roll and soft piano plays in the background. lol

Clever, you make this with some Photoshop filters? I'd like to know how you did it, so can you post how please?

It's photoshop. You first go into the filters and under 'artistic' press on 'photocopy'. Then you adjust the 'brightness and contrast' to your preferences. I used the magic wand on alot of this so that you couldn't tell the background was my bathtub. Anyway - after that i adjusted the hue and saturation of the entire image to be that soft blue. Then i magic-wand all of the stuff that i wanted those comic-book dots on and used 'color-halftone'. That brought up multi-colored red, green, and blue dots. I just adjusted the hue of those dots until they where black like newsprint. viola.

Getting the picture to post on this site was another battle altogether. I have to post it linked to my VF account. That's why all my photo's will have that logo in the corner.

Why not use Imageshack.us, Photobucket or something similar. Anyway, great trick, but I am curious as to whether you was actually under the water at the time or something?

Sven i love you for that!!! That's awesome!

I'm not under the water - the 'stars' are actually just droplets of water that where stuck to the side of the tub. I just edited the tub out of the picture and made the droplets blue.

I was thinking about doing some photos like this but actually using models of the ships like the ones from Thunderforce i see all the time. I wonder where i can find Gradius and R-Type models?

Amazing idea! I can't begin to elaborate the sheer genius of this.

but the image should be flipped horizontally so that it scrolls ----->
