Is This a Galaga Bootleg PCB?

Post by noisuf »

Hi Eveyone, I was wondering if this is an original Galaga PCB or a bootleg? Cheers.

Looks very similar to a Gallag bootleg.

Yes - that's a bootleg without a shadow of a doubt, note the total lack of custom chips, which also explains why its about 30 longer than an original.

This is an original Galaga

The customs are the chips that are totally blank other than a 4 digit code, the 1st two digits being the type of chip, and the second two are the revision number, this is why you will usually see the customs referred to as 54xx, 08xx or 54xx chips as the second two digits don't really matter.

Original boards are a pain in the arse to fix, bootlegs much easier, have a stack of about 15 boards here that I cant be arsed to look at, fixing originals is not fun.
