GUIDED LASER MISSILE MADNESS. RayForce series, Ikaruga and Omega Boost reincarnated in one nice game.

Ok, I might be exaggerating but the game is really nice. You get two options and a reflect barrier for the last ship level.

It has some nifty animated menus and the inverted colours filter reminded me of HellSinker.

Can anyone spell "Ikaruga/Radiant Silvergun" parody for the Final Generation? Well, also some Taito and R-Type hints too with all the awesome lock-on guided laser missiles and overall surrealism.

-nice soundtrack? Check!
-Good balance between difficulty?(easy learning curve for beginner and hard mode for veteran player) Check!
-Nice and Clean presentation for each "generation theme" ? Check! (+2 more grade for tribute to games like Rez, Everyextend, Kenta Cho's stuffs without turning it into disgusting mess from "OH I AM INDIEZ HIPSTA GAMEZ DEVELOPERZ WHO DESIGN RETROZ STYLE VIDYA GEAMZ AM I COOLZ NAO?????)
-really fun game play and a lot of re-playability (finding hidden Dna or meet some condition for different weapon type when you "evolve in each stage" ie. move aggresively to get blade-type weapon or get hit alot to get ability to slow-down time) Check!

I'm loving the insane amount of lock-ons you can get with the last ship. After so much RayCrisis and RayStorm it's like heaven.

Man, the final generation is SWEEEET. I'm still amazed I didn't see Radiant Silvergun mentioned as one of the inspirations in the credits roll, a decent bit of the final generation seems to draw from it. I did see some of the obvious inspirations in the credits though [RayForce, Star Soldier, Space Invaders].

Also, Programmer and above are handing me my ass [although, I was mainly trying to get the other weapons in Programmer, overclock is cooooool, but Hacker and Creator utterly destroy me].

Woo, cleared in Programmer. Although, I swear, this game gives you way too many lives. I died 20 times, and still walked out with 5, and got an extra on clearing the final boss!

Damn fine game! I'm still trying to unlock the different evolutions... The hardest mode is, well, hard.

So apparently he added different ways to evolve now. If you avoid evolving at the boss in stage 1 and instead do it in stage 2, you get a rotating shuriken attack. If you do the same for the next evolution you get an even more powerful version. If you do it for the one after that (evolve in stage 4 instead of at the stage 3 boss) you get the slow motion subweapon early, and you never get the lock-on lasers. With each of these your ship's main weapon doesn't power-up as much at evolution. Does anyone know how to get the sword subweapon?

I also noticed a mysterious [?] item in the shape of bomb and extra life items, dropped in stage 1 by the top invader, second from the left. I'm guessing there's one of these secret items in every stage? What happens when you get them all? Secret last boss?

I love the extra depth he's added in this version.

Getting that in Stage 1 automatically gives you the Orbit weapon. They pretty much are another way to evolve.

Just got the sword, the trick is, in stage 2, stay on the blue line as long as you can. There is no item.

Also, by final gen, the sword is *HUGE*.

I just got a few new weapons. You can get the Burning bomb at your second evolution by keeping your ship moving during stage 2. If you don't move enough you'll get the Circle bomb like normal.

I think getting the Blade only has to do with your proximity to the top blue line during the stage. I've gotten it evolving at the boss when I wasn't anywhere near the top.

I believe you get the Overclock subweapon by destroying the stage 2 boss without evolving.

I also found another [?] item, this time on stage 3. I believe it was from one of the enemies right after the second set of paired larger enemies, after the first mini-boss. When I evolved after grabbing it I got the Counter. It puts up a little shield that absorbs bullets and then when you let go it instantly locks onto and sends them back to other enemies.

Found another one. Whenever you evolve with zero bombs in stock, your current bomb gets replaced by the Cross bomb. It reminds me of Alucard's bomb in Gunbird 2. It's not as useful for scoring as the other bombs because it doesn't last long.

This thread should not be so empty. This game is awesomely fun. Also, the last stage's music is beyond awesome.

I can't quite figure out how to trigger the green DNAs (for evolving without the regular requirement). Do certain enemies drop them each time or do you need to do specific things? It seems like I've gone through certain stages killing everything I can without getting one.
