Quite a few of us (me included) ordered long before the region-free announcement and still got no card - depending on the retailer you used, in at least some cases it was pretty much a total crap shoot.QuickMan wrote:Sounds like you had to pre-order or order it the first day of availability to get that damn card.

I'd like to remind everyone that Black Label is absolutely amazing and totally makes the game. I thought the game was fantastic before I bought BL, but since I downloaded it I've only played 1.5 once and then went back to playing BL.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Just thought I'd post my impressions and thoughts about the game so far.
I've just been sticking to original mode 1.5 to start out. When people compared Mushi1's original mode to a Toaplan shooter, I felt they were somewhat right. You know, the sweep left sweep right type gameplay. I'm pleased to find that Futari's original mode is akin to Mushi1's, but it feels more frantic, definitely. Original mode feels great, the rank based on your overall counter is a great idea and can really help compromise a run. Like just today I was engaged in a conversation while I was playing the game so I started just playing inattentively, causing me to die on St. 2 and 3 but because I did I never got the counter very high (like over 10K) and my mind was elsewhere untill I found myself at the last boss with a life remaining. Which was an "Oh" moment for me as I had never been that close to 1cc yet.
Stage 4 and 5 are just awesome, the game seems to pour the enemies onto you, which makes it feel like a next-generation shooter with how much shit is going on. I liked Normal Reco at first, but she was doing poorly destroying the worm things in St. 4 with her C shot, I tried Normal Palm and he was able to destroy the worms much easier. His A shot feels just very, very slightly weaker than Normal Reco's. But I like him because he feels more versatile.
I encourage people to jump right into the scoring mechanic for original, cause you should be able to earn the 2 extends just by playing for score in the first 2 stages and then gaining the rest to 100mil during moments in which survival play still earns you the green aura gems. The game may be kind of breezy if you're just playing for survival esp. the first 2 stages so just get right into it, the scoring system is really fun. I've noticed that it becomes this kind of rhythm game where it's all about setting the color of the overall counter up so that when going through the stages, the transition between C shot to A shot becomes more streamlined. Like how there may be a few waves of popcorn enemies, then some big enemies to kill with a A shot. The game knows you're trying to score and seems to want you to setup a rhythm. I've never really had this feeling with a shooter before, but it's addicting when you're on a roll.
I'm gonna stay away from Maniac and BL untill I'm satisfied with a score for original, I think. But wow, I'm really impressed. It lived up to the hype for me. I assume I'll like the rest of the modes. Lovin' the slowdown too, it rarely acts against me

Same here, I pre-ordered early from Play-Asia and am gutted I didn't get a DLC cardBulletMagnet wrote:Quite a few of us (me included) ordered long before the region-free announcement and still got no card - depending on the retailer you used, in at least some cases it was pretty much a total crap shoot.QuickMan wrote:Sounds like you had to pre-order or order it the first day of availability to get that damn card.

I saw someone on here contacted PA about it and didn't get anywhere. Has anyone contacted Cave directly regarding 1.01? Not that I'm kidding myself that it would help, but just wondered.
Back on topic, I'm absolutely loving the game even though i'm an (extremely) average player and can't get through stage 3 yet on original, scoring about 35 mil

Lol. The attitude in these forums is just great. Who would think that there would be such a group of people that were so smug because they have more experience playing Japanese Shoot em up games?dmauro wrote:That's odd, from this post it seems like you are quite fluent in English.QuickMan wrote:Ahh. Putting the "Novice" option in the "Arranged" menu doesn't make any sense.
You should be more kind to people that are new to this genre seeing as we're ones that can help future titles like this get released outside Japan.

Uh quickman that wasn't even a particularly harsh post. I think it's dumb how hard people bitch about all the shipping posts but I mean... he did have a point. The difficulty settings are in English.
But yeah having novice in arrange is weird.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
Here's how I see it. Normal Reco is pretty average and all, but her speed causes me to bite it a lot. Normal Palm is a bit faster, and while his A shot is average, it has screen coverage capability that normal reco's A shot does not. His options' lasers also come out faster than abnormal Palm's (for A shot), I can't wait around for those lasers to come out with abnormal when I'm trying to quickly gain some green aura gems. Because of his speed, the fact his C shot isn't very wide is not a problem, and the power of his C shot beats the power of Normal Reco's. Because normal palm's A shot is slightly less powerful than normal Reco's, I just have to survive a little longer while beating big enemies.Special World wrote:Weird, I feel like normal palm is by far the worst in 1.5

Ah, well I suggest getting back into DDP. It seemed a huge chore to me as well, but maybe you just didn't adjust to the hitbox. I found I was moving around way too much. Especially on the Stage 3 boss. I have not played Mushi yet So I cannot say but it may be a similar situation.consoleretro wrote:Same here, I pre-ordered early from Play-Asia and am gutted I didn't get a DLC cardBulletMagnet wrote:Quite a few of us (me included) ordered long before the region-free announcement and still got no card - depending on the retailer you used, in at least some cases it was pretty much a total crap shoot.QuickMan wrote:Sounds like you had to pre-order or order it the first day of availability to get that damn card.

Could someone explain to me how the 360 controller correlates with the different shot types.. how many different shot types are there for one character? Tap,Hold, and laser.

Only 2 types of shot for each character. 1. A shot (Hold A). 2. Tap A = C shot, C = C shot. I'm not sure what that is with the 360 controller setup, I use a stick.Krondelo wrote: Could someone explain to me how the 360 controller correlates with the different shot types.. how many different shot types are there for one character? Oh ok, So you mean tapping A and pressing C = the same shot, just whatever method you prefer?
Does the game allow for custom input, because I usually use the triggers for shooting games so my fingers don't get tired.

Cool, thanks for the promt reply, I like your impressions too. Got me all excited, I love games where you get into that rhythm. Ikaruga does get you into a sort of rhythm but its a little too punishing/precise.

Anyway, the difficulties are in plain English-- in fact, everything that is significant to gameplay is in English, aside from the 'Would you like to save a replay' window and the 'Would you like to post your high score?' window. The only other thing in Japanese is well... the prologue. You don't need any so-called 'experience' to figure out that much-- just use some common sense instead of blindlessly lashing out at people.

Does anyone know if you can upload scores to the leader boards if you only have a Silver Live account or must you have a Gold account?

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (new thread)
A-Ren (rapidly tapping A) pretty much equals C, yes. But C-Ren (rapidly tapping C) is different. Your main shot will fire, but your options won't.Aquas wrote:Only 2 types of shot for each character. 1. A shot (Hold A). 2. Tap A = C shot, C = C shot. Decided to get black label straight off the bat, though i only really tried it out after a few hours of Score attacking 1.5 Maniac, just to see how far i can go after play-through upon play-through. Incredible fun. Despite just having about 1 day with the game, it completely exceeded my expectations in turns of wealth of content to even the enjoyment I'm getting out of it. Also had a friend over whom has a big disinterest in STG's, though found himself having fun with this one, however sadly, cannot convert the nonconvertible
Absolutely adore this game, and a quick note i guess, i experienced that stutter only once after downloading Black Label. It's pretty much nothing, but what is something, is the Black Label DLC, those that haven't jumped on it yet for whatever reason, get it folks!
Brilliant.

The stutter is pretty inconsistent. It also differs from degree: sometimes it'll quickly stutter, other times it will grind to a hault, and once it paused for over an entire second.
The solution is just to not buy Black Label or not have it downloaded while playing non-BL modes. Asada's looking into this, so I'd just wait up for a patch. Unlike Daioujou BLEX, it probably won't take a year to get released.

You know, 1.1 should have just been on the disc to begin with. 1.5 is definitely the one I play the most, but 1.1 is more like "classic" Cave difficulty, and should have been on there for more hardcore fans. All the other versions(Novice, Arrange) are so easy that they aren't really even fun if your skill level is moderate.
Also, do you guys think this game has brought some new gamers into the genre? I don't know how we could tell really(maybe new members), but I know that I got back into shmups when Gradius V came out, and I know that Ikaruga really brought in a lot of folks. I wonder if this game has brought a hundred or so new fans to the fold?

Though it won't really be anything as the perception of these games is still the same, though growth is growth. However, I'm hoping to convince some people to buy it, though no luck so far, but at least they're willing to play it!
For sure, a couple here or there, no doubt. However slight this may be, though till about now, I've had several friends of mine give this game a whirl, and they have either never played an STG before, are reluctant to, and even simply hate them. The reactions I've been getting from it are all positive though. There was discussion about this before on the thread about 10 pages back or so, about new registrations. Heck, i even registered following the games release. (Though i have been constantly lurkingevil_ash_xero wrote:Also, do you guys think this game has brought some new gamers into the genre?
