I doubt anybody is under the illusion that this will see an end to bland soulless pop music, or even that Simon Cowell is suddenly going to be joining the soup queue. There's not even much of a case for voting with your wallet as both acts are under the same Sony label.

If however one brainwashed child conditioned into to soaking up this X-Factor nonsense hears RATM and thinks "Wow! So music isn't complete bollocks after all. I'm gonna look into this stuff", then it has all been worth while.

It was never about taking away the money from him it was to do with the fact we are all sick of his faceless tallent getting to number one every year. The pop charts has been as dull as dishwater for years now christmas number one is just another 'milestone' that the news papers can write about since there is nothing else going on the the world (scarscism people) . ive noticed there is a new group started up saying make Motoheads ace of spades christmas 2010. which seems really dumb since you never know they might actually push someone interesting forward in the competition. Point is it was Simon Cowel getting some kid to number one evey year for 4 years on the trot. It was also a bit of fun and got people talking. funny thing is it really bent a lot of peoples noses out of shape some of the admins on the x factor site where telling there forum users to report all facebook rage for number one groups as race hate and other nasty things to get them banned. which is quite pathetic. just goes to show exatley how much money goes in to one of these things.

Oh yeah, Ace Of Spades is a good track, but Orgasmatron would -definitely- upset more people, the first verse attacks religion.

I like how all these social networking sheeple chose a corporate owned, sloganistic, "protest" band who hasn't been relevant in 12 years to fight off the dominance of corporate owned, pop music on a corporate owned charting system. All of which made some corporate entity somewhere a few dollars richer.
Way to go, guys. Stickin' it to the man.
