Psyvariar confusion! (So many PS2 verisons!)

Post by ForteMP3 »

Okay, this has me confused as all hell...There are like, a CRAPLOAD of versions of Psyvariar out for the PS2. If I want the full Psyvariar experience, which ones do I look for? >.>

Psyvariar Complete (has both Medium Unit and Revision on one disc. Get the Japanese special versions if you want extras - Sound Box for the OST, or Capture Box for the superplay disc).

Psyvariar 2 Ultimate Final (PS2 version of Psy2. Japanese version comes bundled with a superplay disc IIRC).

Yeah, Icarus is right. Those are the ones you want.

There are three Psyvariar games: (in order) Medium Unit, Revision, and 2. Medium Unit and Revision have multiple releases on the PS2 but they're all the same games content-wise. 2 has releases on multiple systems, but the PS2 one has the most extras. The original game was on Naomi hardware, so the DC version is arguably the closest to the arcade, but the PS2 conversion is totally fine (unless you're obsessive over small details) and the extras coupled with the fact that the DC version is harder to track down... I'd suggest the PS2 version, personally.

I think I saw a Psyvariar 2 soundtrack on eBay recently...not sure if it's still there though.
